Hello, I'm Sophie and my story with Buffy started in 2022, off from school as rough as sandpaper with COVID, boredom was starting to set in and I thought "let's give this Buffy the Vampire Slayer a watch to help alleviate my boredom" and I've been hooked ever since. I've even got one of the Buffy comics, the Dust Waltz one shot from 1998 that my mum (if she's reading this, love you) sleuthed out from a market stall in town for me when I was in college.

What else can I say, I'm from Wales and I'm learning Welsh and also bits of Ukrainian and Polish. Although in those languages nothing more advanced than "як вас звати" and "jak się masz". My Welsh is even worse!

(I've been on the forums since May of this year but haven't interacted much with the forum until the summer holidays).

Welcome. You picked one of the best shows to give a try during Covid and I’m glad you got into it. I have relations who are from Wales.

Welcome to the forum! This is definitely the place to be. The fandom here is quite civil and intelligent and I rarely miss a day. If you learn Ukrainian, you could converse with most of my neighbours because where I live is largely Ukrainian and one of my daughter's friends is a Polish girl who lives a few streets over.

There is a lot to watch with 144 episodes of Buffy and 111 episodes of Angel.

If you have been lurking on these boards, you already know the main players, so don't be afraid to start a conversation of weigh in on some ongoing topic. We don't bite - unless you ask us nicely.
 
Welcome to the board! Any favorite characters or seasons? Ukrainian and Polish are unusual languages to choose, but I think both will come in handy in future years!

The town that I live in has a large Polish community, so I thought I would try to learn it in addition to Welsh. I thought I would learn Ukrainian for two reasons, the Cyrillic alphabet looks cool and I would also like to learn it so that I can speak it to Ukrainians who don't feel comfortable speaking English, I was also looking at a voluntary job that meant being on a phone line supporting Ukrainian refugees where you needed to be fluent or at least conversational in Ukrainian or Russian.

My favourite series of Buffy, I do like series 2 and 3. Although three to me does feel like they kind of lost the pace near the end.

Favourite characters?

Well, this is hard, I like Giles but I also like Cordelia and Willow. Wesley's pretty cool too.

I liked Wesley later on in Angel - but i will always think of that shriek he made when Cordy tapped him on the shoulder in Doppelgangland. Lol.
