... assuming at the time you're still a normal human.

Obviously you don't need to worry about anything from a contraception perspective but when it comes to potentially getting an STD it's a different story. Vampires have usually been around for a long time and appear to have quite high sex drives, also they suck blood on a daily basis (which mixes with theirs) meaning the chances of a Vampire not having an STD are very low.

However, we see in Angel that Darla had syphilis as a human which appeared to be cured when she was a Vampire. During her second stint as a human her disease returned, indicating that it was still there when she was a Vampire but just lay dormant. If we are to believe Vamps are not affected by but do carry STD's, would it be possible for us humans to catch any from them?

I don't believe it would be as Buffy clearly didn't use protection when swapping juices with Spike and didn't appear to catch anything and he would certainly have plenty. Despite this I would still use a condom with one just incase. The increase in pleasure wouldn't be worth the huge increase in risk for me.

I don't think vampires have STDs, or diseases of any kind.

Except the whole being "grrr" thing. There's not actually a cure for that. ;)
No, their bodys would not be able to support the viruses and the body heat would kill off any sperm even if their organs still work. I don't think there would be ask risk to go with out protection. Darla is the only known Vamp to become human again, so it would seem to matter.

Interesting theory..
Ok first off...this is a family board. Seriously dude. And secondly....

Vampires don't have STD's. Didn't Darla have one and it went away when she became a vampire. Then she was human and she got it back?

EDIT: Didn't read your entire post regarding what you said about Darla. So I apologize about that. In my defense, you shouldn't have opened this thread anyways lol

I'm surprised you are still here. Chill out.
Some interesting responses, it seems the general feeling is that you can't catch anything. Unless the Watchers Council or something similar had proven it I'd still wear a condom just incase.

To the people saying this thread is too rude, it's a sensible discussion. Have you seen season 6 of Buffy? That is far more explicit and exploitive then anything I have mentioned here and it can be assumed everybody on the forum has seen or will soon see that, so please quit your complaining and instead ignore the thread. Thanks 🙂

1. I understand thinking stuff like this, I do it all the time... but to post it? social rules of conduct, dude... It's just a tad... something one would normally keep in their heads... I think it's throwing people..
2. Vampires have no diseases... so it doesn't matter. So no.

But they still carry them, and it's not the content of the thread that got it locked more the reaction of some of my haters.

Dude, you're mentioning a hypothetical situation that some find pretty offensive because it involves personal feelings. It's doesn't even compare to talking about season 6.

Sorry, look around you. Personal feeling are talked about in much more detail then this on a daily basis hee on BB.

You're kinda a bossy cow, no?

I don't think the issue is that the thread is "rude", I think the issue is that most people on the board try to make it comfortable for all members. Explicit thread topics (e.g If you had sex with a Vampire would you use a condom?) make people uncomfortable.

Don't get me wrong - I've seen your "type" a hundred times before and I acknowledge that you're simply doing this for attention (i.e the more people get offended and pissed off, the cooler you think you are.)

I'm simply addressing it because I wanted to get my two cents in before your ass is out of here.

🙂

Two things:

1. No, vampires don't have STDs. Their bodies are dead and can't culture viruses. W&H designed Darla to get syphilis. It was part of their plan to get Angel to turn her.

2. Honestly, why is everyone so bent over this? STDs have been mentioned a few times over the course of both BtVS and ANGEL. Including the Darla arc and when Xander contracts syphilis in season four of BtVS. Also sex is a LARGE part of the series and I'm sure condoms have been mentioned or shown at some point.

Is it a stupid thread... sure but over the line... not really.

Nor does my reaction to it. I just think that, like this thread, it's a little innappropriate for this forum. But that's just me. :)
Im gonna close this.

Not because it's too rude, although as you can see people have said this kind of personal topic can make people feel uncomfortable, but because it's a nonsensical question, Vampires aren't real.

Also, Always wear a condom, you never know when you've won a second life, and accidents can happen, look at Connor.
