If SMG did not want to quit and if the WB did not cancel Angel or if the WB did cancel Angel only for it to be quickly be revived for another season on a new network , How many seasons would you let each show last

(The rule is that they cant last forever,They can only last for 20 season or less and both can last for a different amount of seasons.)

For me i would want Buffy to go for 15 seasons
and Angel for 12 seasons

I think I want Buffy to last atleast 12 seasons. I am not sure past 10 really. I think 10 would have been perfect. But I am greedy and want 12 anyways.
And I want about 8 realistically for Angel only if Wes didn't die and 10 because I am greedy! But Both shows would have to keep Anya and Wes cause I need them if it is something I am watching. For some reason reading the comic, I don't miss her much, it almost doesn't feel real to me. Just like reading someones made up version of the future. No worries. I will always support the comic and such. Anyways...back to the seasons, ya! That's my answer.

I don't know, I kind of love Buffy the way it is now. I know that if season 7 was airing right now, and I was asked that question, I would have wanted it to stay on... But I'm pretty happy with it the way it is now.. I would have given Angel a few more seasons though, season 5 was soo much better than the rest of Angel and it really deserved more time...

Maybe Buffy could have got 8 seasons and Angel 6 or 7. Or something like that..

Yea, like epo said if Buffy season 7 was airing right now I would probably want it to get more seasons, but as it is right now I don't want any more seasons for Buffy, the way it is, is just perfect.
Angel though, I would give them 6 or 7 seasons.

i'm with Epo and Joamna. i'm happy with the way BTVS ended...seven seasons were just the right amoun, and now we've got the comic with infinite possibilties when it comes to how many eps. it would have been nice if BTVS had gotten to 150 eps, but i was happy with the way it ended.

Angel, on the other hand, is a different matter. it was canceled WAY before it should have. S5 was, IMO, the best season, the characters were really hitting their best. S6 was going to be great, what with Oz returning, and Gunn as the bad guy (at least, that's what we've heard) i would have liked Angel to get to 7 seasons, equal with BTVS. it just seemed right to me.

I agree with you totally on Angelbeing cancelled prematurely. It is a shame though that trash like Charmed got to stay on theWb much longer after Angel and copy plot devices like Connor growing up really fast and sending Angel to another plane or the whole Jasmine emposing world peace at the price of free will. In any event im surprised at all the samll numbers such as 7 or its fine as it is. I think Buffy and Angel were seriously complex characters and presented not only real issues in a metophorical way but issues with the characters themselves. Buffy fo 15 seasons i dont think would be jumping the shark or overkill because Joss defenitely knows what he wants because he plans in advance. Just think .... If we got such quality writing in the first five seasons of buffy imagine 5 more just like that taking the characters to new heights which would make a total of 0 seasons . Then on tp of that another five to chronicle how far theve been and show how much theyve grown.
In Angels case it ended waaay tooooooo early. Although i didnt really care for the W&H theme of season 5 it was interesting and had good episodes. I just felt as though if they began to work for W&H too soon. Also Angel didnt really get a chance to give a relationship with his son a chance he kinda gave him up not even attempting to make it work. 12 seasons would have did Agel Justice and it wouldnt have had a cliff hanger finale and most of the cast probably wouldnt have died (Wes, Cordy, Fred). Also in 12 seasons everyone would have found closure.

Yeah i liked how it ended, but if they wouldve kept going, id be very happy just as long as the eps were good episodes, but aslong as it didnt seem that they were just shooting stuff just to put on air, but it actually was good and it kept going that wouldve been cool:biggrin: i dont know how long i would choose though, but as long as it was still good, it could go all 20 🙂

i think id be curious to see them do as many seasons of buffy as possible, all twenty. it may seem like a lot, or it would get boring, but i dont think thats the case. at first, the writers and producers etc. might stuggle to get ideas, but i think it will lead up to something great. many more stories could be told. always. until they all die. because until then, they will have lives, and when there's magic involved, how can their lives not be interesting? look at all the fanfic! they're chock full of usable, remaining ideas (the good ones, anyway 🙂). and if not, think of this. there are some really good shows that get cancelled after only one season because they werent noticed, or hadnt hit their stride. it might be like that. re-starting out, waiting to hit a stride, maybe even changing direction a tad. the big difference is that it would be noticed and criticized, so it would be harder on them to keep their audience impressed and waiting.

thats not a positive theory, but it is a possible theory, and who wouldnt want as much buffy as possible if joss whedon hypothetically started churning 'em out? 🙂

as far as angel, i agree with the premature cancellation opinions. it should have at least two more seasons, to match buffy's number, and get to all those season 6 plots which were in the works.

So far as buffy.. i'm content with how that ended. Angel I would have liked to see go on for a few more seasons. It was getting really good towards the end. 6 or 7 would have been a good number.

Angel should have gone on at least a few more.

Realistically, Buffy probably ended at the right time. Unrealistically, I wish it was still on, because I miss those crazy guys. 😉
