If you're a true Buffy fan...

Oh I'm a big frickin cry baby!! LOL There are two moments that immediately come to mind:

1. When Buffy keeps repeating I'll never forget, I'll never forget in I will Remember You
2. When Tara gets shot and blood splatters on Willow

Gotta jump and say I agree with both of these. Even IWRY. This was before i was a Spuffy shipper though 😉 and of course I cry when Tara dies 🙁

I don't usually ever cry, at all. Never. Didn't cry during Buffy, even though a lot of stuff made me sad, but, I'm ashamed to admit I did during Angel. I cried at the end of "You're Welcome."

I cry during that scene in IWRY still, even though I'm a hardcore Spuffy shipper. I've cried more while watching Buffy than I ever have in my entire life. I'm pretty tough skinned in RL, but while watching Buffy I throw it through the window and enjoy the emotional connection I feel to the show.

Just want to add, I mean standard crying. Not bawling. I don't do bawling. 😉

I must not be a true Buffy fan, because I haven't cried. At least, I don't remember crying. The closest I came was when Oz left during the last scene between him and Willow. That made me really sad. I tried to make myself cry in The Gift, but don't think I did. I was like 'Buffy's dead...okay'. I knew she wouldn't be dead permanently, so I guess it didn't have as much of an impact on me as if I was oblivious to that fact. Also, I didn't cry in the Body, probably because I didn't like Joyce. Bear in mind that before I completely watched Buffy, I'd read the plot for each season on Wikipedia. I feel sad that I don't feel sad, you know?

Okay, so reading through these I have almost cried numourous times. And I'm only READING them. Also, I'm glad I read before answering because it helped me remember some of the times that I cried that I might not have remembered otherwise.

Naturally I cried in The Body. For all of you criers out there, you know why. I'm actually comprising a list of the top 10 moments in The Body that at least made me tear up. I can't help but cry in that episode. I spill buckets from the begining to the end of the scene with the Scoobies in Willow's room. Anya's monologue, Willow's changing. I also cried buckets when Buffy said "We're not supposed to move the body" and the look on her face afterwards. It's shattering.

I cried in Nightmares, I cried in Prophecy Girl because I think Sarah Michelle Gellar did some amazing acting in her "I'm sixteen years old, I don't wanna die" scene. I cried in Innocence and Lie to Me. I cried a whole ot in Passion because I really like Jenny and whenever you hear Willow crying I find I can't help but cry. It's so realistic.

Hmm...I cried in Amends and The Prom just because of how happy I was. The class protector award was great and I freaked out in The Freshman when Sunday broke it. Stupid girl! And I cry in Tough Love, mostly at the end. I cry in The Gift, mostly because of Spike's reaction. And of course I cry in Grave.

Those are just some off the top of my head. I've cried a lot but not as much as some people. I get teary a lot. 🙂

From reading your reply I am exactly the same and for the same reasons! Like sometimes it might not even be the situation that makes you cry but a reaction for example or maybe something insignificant that'd trigger of your tears 😛.

But I totally agree with your prophecy girl bit, really true.

Oh, I completely forgot about IWRY & Hero- big tearjerkers for me too. The score at the end of Hero is amazing. Also that brief moment in Forgiving where Fred thinks about baby Connor going through the portal with Holtz and says "No. It can't be. The baby's not gone. Not like that. Not a portal. There's pulling and there's noise and there's nothing to hold on to... nothing at all... He must've been so scared".

LOL your banner is epic!!!
Gosh, there's too many to list. And it keeps changing. One time, an episode won't affect me much at all. The next time, I'll have tears streaming down my face for the entire thing. One exception is The Body. It always gets me, the whole episode. I watch it when I need a good cry.

I always cry at the end of Becoming Prt 2 when Full Of Grace is playing and the sign pops up saying now leaving sunnydale come back soon!! Bawl my eyes out everytime!! But thats the only one lol

I cried a lot watching Buffy, and still cry every time in some spots (end of Becoming, The Body, etc.).

For me, the saddest moment of the entire series is one that I may or may not tear up about - the beginning of The Gift. I love how in the craziness of the season, especially what has just happened (Buffy's terror when Glory sees Dawn as the key and her subsequent decision to run, her coma, etc.), we get brought back to just Buffy vs. a vampire in an alley. She goes through the witty banter, but her heart is clearly not in it. Then, the guy she's just saved looks incredulous and says she's just a girl, and she replies "That's what I keep saying."

I find this scene absolutely crushing and heartbreaking. The weight of that scene (and what it says), for me, sums up the entire series. On initial viewing, with the "Last time on Buffy..." montage that started with episode 1 and went through every episode, it was especially painful to watch. I'm going to tear up just thinking about it!

I love that opening, and it gets to me every time also.
I think I'm a heartless wench because I don't think I have ever actually cried during the show. I have certainly welled up: Becoming part II when Full of Grace comes on, Buffy swearing that she will never forget in IWRY and the opening strings of Sacrifice in The Gift. But I have never actually wept.

Hmm...may go for a check up just to ensure I actually have a heart lol

whatever season the body was, but not that episode
The first step is admitting you have a problem.. it's nice to see you made progress.

Still none have listed the one episode that gets me. And probably no one ever will!

Narrow it down to a season and I'll have a guess

Well, he said season 5 but- you're killing me with this! Tell us!!
The FIRST time I let loose with the water works was "Passion" right when Willow is handed the phone and we hear here say in a half sob "What?!"
...man I lose it. And then when Giles breaks down...yeah.
After that it was the Season Two Finale' and that music just get's me..."...I feel like letting go." Oh GAWD.
Other than these three specifically, anytime Willow cries I'm usually a mess.😀

"As Willow goes, so goes my nation." :(
I don't cry easily but there are certain scenes that I can't watch without welling up. It's mostly when Buffy cries, I can't help it, SMG just does it so realistically! That scene in "Innocence", where she goes back to her room after her encounter with Angelus, takes off her ring and curls up on her bed in a fetal position... that's so painful to watch. Also, the Xander/Willow scene in "Grave" that was mentioned before is pretty harsh, too. And Anya's monologue in "The Body"...

Oh, and the dialogue at the end of "Amends", that part when Buffy says in that really small voice "But what about me? I love you so much", that gets me every time. I guess I'm a baby after all...

Definitely. I felt I cried everytime i related to the characters.
The Gift. Anya's monologue in The Body. When Buffy receives the Class Protector Award. Touched.

Buffy and Angel were shows that knew how to get to me. I found myself always crying and I usually don't cry often scratch that yes I do when it comes to my shows.
Main episodes that I can think are Grave, Chosen, Not fade away, Your welcome, A hole in the world, the body, the gift hero man so many.
A lot of the death episodes get me bad I always cry but then there are the episodes where like Grave someone doesn't necessarily die in that exact episode but the characters struggles makes me sad.

@ Zobo Prophecy girl made me cry especially when Willow was crying it was just so sad. The first season of Buffy knew how to pull on the heartstrings that darn show.

I was crying pretty much that whole episode
I cry a LOT when I watch TV. It's terrible. I have a problem.

It's ridiculous how much I cried during Buffy, but not surprising. Joss seems to have a fetish for torturing us. 🙁

Let's see...I was pretty much an emotional wreck all through Season 6, just cause I'm a huge Buffy stan and seeing her suffer like that...ouch. But The Gift, The Body, Becoming part 2, Innocence/Surprise, Touched, Chosen, all the normal choices too.

Chosen probably gets its own special category for how much I cried lol. It pretty much ripped my heart out and put it back together again, I have to say. I remember crying throughout the entire episode when I first watched it. And the second time I watched it. (And possibly maybe the third time. Just a little. Really.)

Oh god, Chosen DOES have it's own category. I cried my whole heart out!
