Illyria/Cordy and Fred/Jasmine?

Ok, I was thinking about something today and it made me wonder what it would've been like if Fred had taken Cordy's path in s4 and had Jasmine take over her. Then I wondered about Cordelia being taken over by Illyria instead of Fred. Angel would have cared a whole lot more. What do you guys think about this? What would you rather? Or are you happier with the way it was?
I have to say I'm happier the way it was, because I love Cordy and at least her soul wasn't destroyed, but maybe some Fred fans think otherwise?

I think it would have been weird the other way around, I don't think Connor would ever have had strong enough feelings to do anything with Fred or do anything for her. I also can't imagine Cordelia as Illyria but I suppose once you've seen something it would be weird to have it swap round.

There's quite a few reaons why Fred couldn't have been taken over by Jasmine. Jasmine chose Cordy because she fit several criteria that Fred didn't. I think the emotional link with Angel was a must have. The visions were also necessary, although we can't be sure if giving the visions to Cordy was part of Jasnmine's plan in the first place (in which case she couldn;t have used Fred because she was still in Pylea).

Cordy becoming Illyria is more possible. It's an interesting thought actually, because Cordy was quite a lot stronger than Fred so maybe she would have been able to constrain Illyria, which would have led to things being very different after Time Bomb. Wesley stayed by Illyria because she reminded him of Fred, would Angel have done the same if it was Cordy? Somehow I doubt it.

Jasmine couldnt have chosen Fred. As Skip said, everything was set in motion from the very beginning. The episode showed images from the very first series. By this point, Fred was in Pylea so it would never have worked. Its not like Jasmine just started it all right before Conner and Cordy slept together.

As for Illyria taking over Cordy, wasnt that predestined? Wasnt Illyria supposed to get out at that particular time? I thought that was the point? In which case the whole Jasmine/Cordy thing had already happened.

So basically theres no way it could have been the other way round.
