Illyria Taken Over?

I really wish Angel had at least a sixth season, because Illyria ended up being my favorite character on the show and we've seen so little of her. I'm sure if Joss knew the show would be canceled he wouldn't have introduced a relatively new character so late in the show. But anyway I'm wondering if basically as time goes on Illyria will eventually be taken over in a sense by her memories of Fred. Cause Illyria basically remembers EVERYTHING of Fred's life so much so that she can effectively imitate her to the point where even her parents don't really notice anything different about her. Also it's obvious that she does begin to develop Fred's human emotions.

So basically my question is since really human memories are basically what makes us us do you think Illyria eventually fade into the darkness and she eventually become like a Fred with a slightly darker nature or perhaps a multiple personality.
 
I would definitely not go that far, but I do think that in time she might have mellowed, in no small part due to Fred's memories giving her an insight in human nature.

Also working with Wes and everyone was changing her somewhat too. That would've also have a future impact on her.
 
i can't remember where i read this, so i'll go look it up later, but i do remember reading that, had Angel continued, Fred and Illyria would have become thwo seperate people, and Wes was gonna be torn between the two of them.
 
I'm still dreaming of an illyria centered tv show, would absolutely love this program and i'm sure a lot of other people would love this show too

Also, as stated in an interview with Amy Acker, it was originally planned to split Illyria and Fred. In other words, Amy was going to play a double role on Angel, which would have been an interesting spin.

I wonder how that would have worked though, because they made this big hitch about how Fred's soul had been destroyed. I wonder if they're still going to expand upon that in Season Six, because I'm sure we all know the ONLY reason Joss decided to kill Wesley is because the show was ending so he basically wanted to kill somebody off and he felt that he could get the most emotion if Wesley died so he killed him.

well, he did introduce some potentials very late in s7 buffy, knowing full well it was the last season, and even though kennedy got in a little earlier then some of them, she had a bigger role, but was still a "new character" who was not given proper developing time.

and as far as how they would do the fred-and-illyria thing, like you said right off, illyria has all of fred's memories, and those are what makes a person. my best guess would be that maybe she could come from those. plus, willow is a super powerful witch, who they just keep making able to do more and more stuff, to the point that people are saying she'd be a hard match for glory in a fight, and glory was a god! she turned all the potentials into slayers! if anyone could find a way to out-powerful fred's soul's destruction, she could.

Yeah but the potentials weren't introduced as people that he wanted to fully develop they're just other slayers and of course some more popular than others so they got more face time but really they weren't important. The purpose of the potentials was for Buffy to share her power with others, but they weren't meant to be like major characters. And that's what I meant. Illyria is a major character, she's in the opening credits the potentials aren't/weren't. And also as powerful as Willow is I don't think she can create a soul or re-create a soul, cause that's basically giving her the ability to create life and if she's THAT powerful she'd be able to give Xander back his eye
 
kennedy was dating willow. i dont know the deal with the new season 8, but it seems like she might have become a bigger deal and been more involved if she stayed with willow. and if not, she was just a really lame random installment...she may have been anyway.

and how far do willow's powers really go? she can bring back the dead, but she cant heal an eye? maybe its because she feels that if she does that kind of stronger stuff, she'd go dark again. but still, that means she can do it, and if the fred-and-illyria thing was joss' plan, he'd make it happen somehow.
 
Yeah but she can only bring back the dead if the person died of a mystical death. And really if you look at any mythology/fantasy or whatever practically all of them say if a person dies of a mystical death they can be brought back to life. So it's not really surprising the same concept can applies to Buffy.
 
and fred dying at the hands of an old one that burned up her soul and took over her body isnt mystical? :silly:
