Illyria: Worst Character Ever?

I don't think she is the worst...but not really one of my favs. I was a big fan of Fred...upset what happened to her. Amy, as an actress, did very well with it. I personally think it was lack of writing and exploration of the character...that made me not care about her at all. All she was there for seemed to just erk Spike and spout random nonsense. I personally, after Fred became Illyria...it didn't really help the plot line of season 5 of Angel...nor did it make it terrible. All around, IMO, I think that season was kind of slopped together to get some sort of ending for the fans.
Well I am not at the point of Angel where Illyria appears, I am at season 3 now. So I don't really know if I like her or not. But I saw her on YouTube and I am really interested. Can't wait to see her! When does she appear? Season 5?

Yup. She is in season 5. I saw her on Youtube long before I saw her in the show too. And I was really intrigued by her and I don't think I was disappointed by her, when she did finally show up. 😀
I really like Illyria. I like what she did to the dynamic of the group. Plus I liked seeing Amy get to be that intense.

Illyria is pretty bad. Almost as bad as Fred's "Texas" accent in her first couple of episodes. 😉
My first go-through of Buffy, Dawn annoyed the bejesus out of me. Over time, she has become a beloved lil' sis, and I see her as a very rich character.

I was devastated to see Fred go but Illyria is a kick-ass character. She has some great lines, I love how Amy plays her and get a serious hoot out of her interactions with Spike. I also think the whole arc introduced some really dynamic storytelling. AtS S5 was television and Mutant Enemy at its best!
