Once her powers were reduced, was Illyria supposed to be as strong as Spike or Angel, or, say, the average Slayer? All of Angel's crew seemed to be extremely impressed with her strength and skill as a fighter, even in the last couple of episodes, and she seems even more powerful (more aggressive, anyhow) in Season 6.

I think she was. Here's what Wesley says about her in The Girl in Question:

Wesley: Her powers have been greatly reduced. She still has an unusual level of strength, but is no longer invulnerable or able to alter time.

The choice of the word "unusual" is quite important I think. Wesley is a watcher, who's daily life has consisted of vampires, demons, and Slayers, so for her strength to be at an "unusual" level it must be either very low, or very high. I think she must have been stronger than Spike at an ordinary level, but I wouldn't say Spike couldn't beat her in a one on one.

I think even after her powers were reduced she was still very much stronger than vampires and slayers. She's and Old One, even with only a fifth(for example) of her physical strength left, thats probably still very powerful.
Id say she'd quite easily beat Spike, Angel or Buffy.

He probably could, though I imagine that he would limp, or maybe even crawl, away from the fight rather than walk. Even before Illyria's powers were reduced, he had pretty much figured out her fighting style and was learning to counter her moves. The only real advantage she had was her time altering ability, and once that was gone, the playing field was much more level.

Remember in Not Fade Away when Illyria punches that Blackthorn guy, smashing his head off his shoulders! To me, this says Illyria is still way more powerful than someone like Spike. Obviously if its down to just skill, then lots of people could beat Illyria. But Its not just about skill and Illyria would simply be too strong. Spike v Illyria would be simelar to Angel v Reilly(yoko factor) where Reilly holds his own but ultimatly, Angels just a bit too powerful.

Exactly. Spike has the experience to beat her, even though she's probably physically stronger. The demon isn't used to Fred's body either. She can explode a demon's head with one punch, but without her time altering abilities, Spike would never let that punch land. Nevertheless, I can definately see her becoming the strongest fighter in the 'verse though. She seems on a level with Glory, without any of the weaknesses.

I think Glorys power would be quite equal to Hamilton or Calebs. and Hamilton easily beat Illyria, so going by this, i dont think Illyrias THAT strong. But, if Illyria is as strong as Glory, and Spike can beat Illyria, does that mean he can beat Glory, Hamilton or Caleb?

Well, Spike never went head to head with either of those, except for a single punch from Caleb, and I've always believed that he lost it there for a moment because he was caught by surprise, and also distracted because he thought Caleb had seriously hurt Buffy.

As for Illyria, as I said before, even when she was at the peak of her powers, he was figuring out her moves, and was able to counter them. Without the time control, Illyria would have to land a very lucky punch to stop him.

With Hamilton, both Illyria and Angel made a real mistake by trying to go toe to toe with him. He was just too powerful for that to work. He beat Illyria without halfway trying, and if Connor hadn't shown up in the nick of time, he would have dusted Angel just as easily. Alone, Spike probably wouldn't have done a lot better than Angel did. Beating Hamilton, barring the vampire-drinks-blood-and-gains-bad-guy's-power thing, would require teamwork from two or more really good fighters using a coordinated attack to keep him off balance until a killing blow could be landed. The key there would be carefully thought out strategy and execution, coupled with a large helping of plain luck.

I think Illyria is a little stronger than Angel or Spike but not much. I always wanted to see Illyria with full power (maybe we'll get to see that in the comics).

Sorry, I meant that with training and after getting used to her body Illyria could be like a perfected Glory. I think she was just as strong, and that if Hamilton had been able to carry out that attack on Glory she would have been equally as damaged. But Glory wouldn't have let it get that far.

Also, I'm sure that Spike would get hit (a lot) in a serious one on one with Illyria, without her time bending skills, that head exploding punch would never have connected. She took the Black Thorn guy by surprise, and gave that punch some serious build up. In a combat situation Spike would see it coming.

Ok, fair enough, Illyria (possibly) may not be able to land that punch, but Spike aint Bruce Lee, Spike aint a master of dodging, im sure Illyria would land enough hits and even if they were only half as strong as 'That' punch it would still be enough to defeat Spike. And (i think) Illyria would be more resiliant than Spike too.
Also, imo, Glory would kick Hamiltons ass.

It depends at what point you are talking about. As of Not Fade Away, I think Spike could win (if he was truly motivated like he was against Angel). Once Illyria gets used to the body though, I agree that she could beat him down.

And Glory could so take Hamilton! He wouldn't last 5 minutes!

Although, Spikes still my fave character and if they fought, id be 'COME ON SPIKE, KICK HER ASS'

On another 'power' note, im thinkin Adam, could take Illyria or Caleb. Remember how tough he was before the spell! He was looking bloody invincible.
So Illyria v Adam! oooooh.

Illyria was definatly stronger than vampires and slayers. She was probably reduced to 5 times stronger than a slayer. And I think she could have put up a fight with Glory. Illyria was an Old One, Glory was a hell god so they could be equal in power since Illyria was totally stronger than Glory before her power was reduced.
