I was doing work at the office, and had the Hellmouth Podcast on. I really like Brian, and appreciate his insight.

With that said, he HATED the episode Ted.... HE HATES IT!!!!

In fact, he hates it so much that I really had to use the big letters, all caps, and bold, and that didn't even convey his hatred for this episode.

So.... I've got it loaded on Netflix. I only watched it once, and really liked it, especially John Ritter. Let's see if it is really that bad.

When I'm watching season 2, I'm thinking "Oh no it's the episode Ted" but in the end it's quite likeable. Not my favourite or more expected but it's okay. I mostly like Sarah's acting when she thinks she killed Ted!

(And John Ritter managed to make perfection look creepy, great acting!)

The very first day a person emailed me the banner. I might be the only Snyder on the BB. :-)
I love this episode!! I used to watch "Three's Company" as a kid, so I was super excited to see John Ritter on BtVS! I thought his character was so creepy, and I loved the evil robot storyline (even if they did show us that in Season 1 with Moloch).

I grew up with "Three's Company" and I'm loving this episode too!

Three's Company karma lolz

True, but I loved the difference of robot tough, the first one was more like a metaphor of the power of the net and the second one was more of a Stepford 😀

I think Ted is unfairly criticised. Whenever I think of the early seasons of Buffy, it's an ep that really stands out to me. Classic Buffy imo.

Willow, Xander, Cordelia, Giles and Jenny are great in this episode but Buffy gets bailed out in a very clumsy manner by the writers, so the episode loses points for that, IMO. She uses excessive force on Ted just because he was pissing her off. Had they changed it to her hitting him once and not too strongly and him "dying" as a result of freak accident instead of Buffy pummelling repeatedly him until he fell down the stairs, the episode woudl have been much better.

My impression is that what people love about this episode is that "weeeeee, it's John Ritter!" I had no idea who he was, to me he's just Ted's face. While I don't hate the episode, it leaves me pretty 'meh'.

Willow is so cute in this episode!! And John Ritter is great!

I watched it, and loved it!! I am a bigger fan of the later seasons, but I still like this one.

Brian is wrong!!!!

John Ritter is better known for his work as a comedic actor, and he was very good in that genre. He really pleasantly surprised me with his ability to go dark for this role though.

I think John Ritter was better suited for comedy than for this kind of genre, but he did manage to be quite freaky, which is more than you could say about some of the other one off monsters.

Hmmm....I remember listening to that episode of the Hellmouth Podcast and just laughing at the stuff Bryan said because it was so amusing. We all have different opinions, some of us are going to hate episodes others like. Many, many, many people sent Bryan emails telling him that Ted was one of their favourites and it blew his mind...just like it blows my mind when people hate 'Wrecked' or Season Six in general.

So, I don't think Bryan was wrong as opposed to he has a different view than we do. He has later stated that it's not his least favourite episode of the show...so I'm looking forward to finding out what one that is and how he goes about that podcast. LOL.

True. I like Brian, and especially when he talks about being on "Super-protective Alpha Male Mode" about protecting my beloved Willow. :)
I like it, if only for the moment when he smacks Buffy and she goes 'Oh I was just waiting for you to do that' with a smile. 😛

It's a fun episode! Even though the explanation at the end was far fetched, I thought.

Yeah, the end bugs me. Like, all of a sudden Buffy isn't in trouble for killing someone, even though the police don't know he walked out of the morgue and disappeared?
I actually love Ted (the ep, not the man though I adore John Ritter as an actor), 🙂 plus it has given me one of the quotes from Buffy that most often use: "Now that's just creepy on a level I hardly knew existed"

Goby agrees: True. I like Brian, and especially when he talks about being on "Super-protective Alpha Male Mode" about protecting my beloved Willow.

HAHA, yes, that has always made me smile. We need lots of people to protect poor little Willow. I like his opinions too, makes me think more than I normally would.
