My favorite John Ritter role is his role in "Slingblade". He was so good in that. 🙂

I rewatched this episode this morning 'cause of this thread. I enjoyed it a lot!

It's too bad that some people don't get what this episode really is about. A whole wonderful metaphore: a daughter whose divorced mother starts dating a new guy and thinks he is probably evil. It's just like in real life, but just like everything in this series, things are literal. That's the brilliant aspect of this episode. It's not about the jokes or acting or celebrities guest starring. It's about real life problem.

Well I understand that and part of what I loved about the ep from the start was that it was ridiculously relatable to me when I was that age.

That doesn't mean that I can't also enjoy the guest starring celeb and the funny jokes... those are what makes it durable to me cause otherwise it'd just be painful to watch.

Yeah, you can. I meant that people shouldn't only look at this episode and see only the jokes and celebrities. That there is bigger part in this, which is what the show is all about - real life problems manifesting into literal stuff. The jokes are nice, but it's not the biggest acheivement of this series, that's not the first thing they think about when writing an episode.

Exactly! When I was a sophomore in high school my mom started dating a guy I hated, just like Joyce with Ted. So when I saw this episode, I couldn't help but giggle at the relatability. 🙂

I had that with my dad and dad's girlfriend. Except she is not evil. She tried real hard with me and my brother, but sometimes she drives me crazy. For example, I was once with her and dad at the supermarket shopping, and I saw a really cheap pair of jeans that I had to buy because it's so cheap and I really needed new jeans. And she wouldn't let me. And I was 22 years old! It was my money, and I was 22 years old and she wouldn't let me buy the jeans!! But I'm off topic here, sorry!

Ahh heck no. I'm 21 and if my mom's boyfriend tried to tell me no, I'd go all Mercedes on his ass, "Hell to the no!"

I like Ted! I think the idea of Ted building a better Ted yadda yadda yadda isn't exactly the best idea the writers have come up with. But having Buffy deal with thinking she actually killed someone is really interesting. In fact, finding out in season 3 that usually things like this involve the watcher's council, it's cool to see how much Giles and Buffy's relationship had grown (he not only doesn't even mention that, he goes and patrols for her). Xander under the drugs of the cookies are funny. And of course, this ep has some great Giles/Jenny stuff, especially the ending! :3

I am doing my Buffy re-watch and I really didn't want to watch Ted. But I did and I enjoyed it, John Ritter is amazing and it is one of the rare Jenny/Giles relationship episodes, which was great to see
