I'm Afraid the Avengers Will Succeed

If thats what you choose to believe then that's one side of the story.

Or...you could...post some links to the other side of the story and I can read it?

If you think I'm ignorant, cure my ignorance. Don't try to act like you're informed about THE REAL TRUTH, MAN. That's rude.

Don't despair. If it's a big success there is no way they will let him direct Avengers 2... they will do what they did with Favreau and IM3.

I don't think thats the case. Robert Downey Jr and Jon Favreau have spoken about Iron Man 3 and negotiating his role as Happy. Jon still seems very much involved with the Iron Man franchise even though he won't be directing.

If the Avengers goes down the root that Green Lantern has gone down with the box office takings then I expect Joss will stay on in some capacity. Thankfully though Joss knows the characters inside out and has always wanted to do the Avengers so we know he's putting 100% and hasn't rewritten anything awful.

I too would hate to see Joss lose sight of Buffy and co. for the sake of the movies. But if there's one thing Joss has drilled into his viewers head its that he wants us to be invested in his characters. If he wants us to get invested then its because he is too. And its my belief that the Buffyverse is just as close to Joss' heart as it is to ours, if not much closer. For now, we just have to watch and support him, and hope that he remembers the show that started it all. And that maybe, just maybe, he'll have the resources and desire to take Buffy even further.

Either way, the man who created the Buffyverse will always have my allegiance, and I hope he makes a gazillion fabillion dollars because he is ridiculously talented. I wholeheartedly support Joss in all of his endeavours, this one included.
