I'm confused about Kennedy/Aluwyn

So I'm reading season 8, and Aluwyn is Willow's snake teacher who she met on some mystic journey. Kennedy says she died a mystical death, and she said she died for Willow. Later, Willow says she has to have sex with Kennedy to reach Aluwyn. So, are Aluwyn and Kennedy somehow connected? Maybe she sacrificed herself (her death) so they could meet? Is this connection ever explained? Do we know how Kennedy died, and why it was for Willow? What are your theories?

I forgot all about that Kennedy temporary death thing. (Which is kind of a bummer for her, because now she's used up her one resurrection.) I figure Willow needed to offer a human sacrifice for some big ritual to gain power, and Kennedy agreed to be it (with the stipulation she'd be brought back afterwards.)

I don't think she really died for Willow. In my imagination, she died while fighting for her fellow slayers, presumably from her enemy's magic. Willow revived her. That's it.

Otherwise, she wouldn't be so cool and calm about Willow dumping her.

There's still a slight possibility that she died for Willow AND held no serious grudges about the break-up. If so, she's probably one of the best person in the Buffyverse. All members of the Scoobies are morally disgusting compared to her.

You could be right about Kennedy dying because of Willow . Willow could have had to do something to get to Aluwyn
& let Kennedy die in getting it . We all know how much Willow loves Magic.

Via sex magick, Willow could briefly visit the realm Aluwyn resided but to stay there for half a year it took some sort of sacrificial death, blood magick, or trade.

Remember that getting Osirin's attention in Bargaining took slaughtering a deer, an animal sacrifice. And remember in Get It Done in order for Buffy to travel through the time vortex, an exchange had to be made. She went through the portal into the desert while a demon from the desert came through the portal to her home and it took sending the demon back to retrieve her.

So what do you think happened to Kennedy then . Was is a mystical death or did she really die & in either case was brought back because of Willow.

I thinking Willow knew what was going to happen but didn't tell Kennedy before hand.

Didn't Kennedy say something to Willow like, "I'd die for you. Oh wait, I did"?

Willow has gotten powerful enough that she probably doesn't even need to call forth Osiris. She might've been able to store Kennedy's soul in a container like the Orb of Thesulah, keep Kennedy's body frozen so it doesn't decay, and then 6 months later heal her wounds and put her soul back in.

Kennedy knew why she died. I just don't think she ever found out that while she was dead, Willow was screwing Aluwyn.

I don't think Kennedy knew exactly why she died . After all I don't think Willow said "You had to die so I could spend 6 months screwing Aluwyn " .
But I bet Kennedy knew something happened that Willow didn't tell her about & that really put a strain on their relationship I guessing .

Well since Kennedy was dead, it wasn't like Willow was cheating on her; and if Kennedy was complaining that Willow shouldn't have entered into a new relationship so soon after her death, then she can't really complain either. Willow should never have brought her back to life.
