I'm confused!!!

I was watching series one of Angel the other day and i watched the episode where doyle dies and something struck me if that white light killed anyone with humanity in them then they would die but that means that even the demons who created the light should die because as Anya said in series all the demons that walk the earth are tainted, human hybrids like vampires, whats going on!!! lol

Yes, but earlier in that episode (Hero), we are told that the Scourge (I think they are called) are pure bred demons. And they were trying to get rid of the "tainted" demons.

Elmo is correct, they wanted to kill all demons that were not pure like themselves.

As for Anya's comment, keep in mind that she like us makes mistakes, even Wes and Giles have been wrong on occasion. Its all part of making them human. We don't even know that she was aware of The Scourage.
