IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN SEASON 2 DO NOT READ AHEAD!

I've only seen the first 8 episodes of season 2 and i'm already having problems understanding this series arc. So please let me know if i'm missing something huge

At the end of season 1, Darla was brought back in the cage

Darla is drugging Angel in his sleep and planting seeds of doubt about whether his friends ever say thank you

Angel starts acting really lazy and really weird in quite few episodes and even attacks Wesley when he woke him up (WHY? Is she making him question whether his path to redemption is worth it?)

Darla starts plaguing Angel in real life by pretending to be DeEtta Kramer

Angel discovers DeEtta Kramer is Darla and tells her she never made him happy

Darla's humanity starts to plague her. She knocks out Lindsay, calls Angel and asks for his help.

Darla asks Angel to turn her back into a vampire again. Angel refuses and she runs away

Wolfram and Hart reveal they need Angel (not Angelus) to turn to the dark side (WHY?!)

Maybe that's all there is too this whole Darla/Angel story so far. Is it just me being weird of have i missed a huge plot device? Something is bugging me but i can't quite work out what it is.

The prophecy said that the vampire with a soul plays a major part in the apocalypse - but it didn't specify on what side would he be fighting - for good or evil. Since Angel is such a good fighter, and there's a chance he might fall to the "darkside" again, Wolfram and Hart thought maybe they could use him on their side.

So they tried to expedite the process of him going evil again.

Darla was brought back by W&H in order to seduce Angel, which in turn, they thought, would cause him to lose his soul again and become evil and therefore align with them. Make sense? Little did they know that he did sleep with her but he didn't get that moment of "true happiness" (lose his soul) as he did with Buffy because he never loved Darla.

Then, after Darla runs away, Drusilla turns her back into a vampire.

Hope this helps. Tell me if you have any more questions.

Angel starts acting really lazy and really weird in quite few episodes and even attacks Wesley when he woke him up (WHY? Is she making him question whether his path to redemption is worth it?)

I don't think she really 'programmed' him to question stuff around him, or to even attack his team. It seemed more like Angel had trouble to keep reality and dream apart from time to time, probably from how much Darla had messed around with magicks around him. In one scene when he was more or less awake, he also sort of hallucinated Darla being there, so I guess the Wesley situation was the reverse of that.
And I believe the purpose of the whole thing was to kinda make Angel crazy to estrange him from the world and his friends.

Wolfram and Hart reveal they need Angel (not Angelus) to turn to the dark side (WHY?!)

I don't remember that particular scene, but I believe it's because of the prophecy. The prophecy talks specifically about Angel (aka The Vampire with a Soul....well or Spike I guess (but they didn't know that back then)), so soullesss Angelus is out.
