Well First of all, I would like to say Hi to all you other, Buffy and Angel obsessed people :: vampire
I stumbled across Buffy accidentally. It is a moment I remember well, as I have been obsessed ever since, it's only been about 11 years now! I was seven years old and playing with my brother in the living room, he was only 5. He wanted to watch the simpsons, if memory serves. Over here in the U.K, Buffy and the simpsons were on the same channel, often the simpsons was on just before. Anyway juring the programme we had got that involved in playing we weren't even watching the TV. That was until Buffy came on that was.
The suspence in the very first scene with Darla instantly got our attention. After Darla had bitten the guy, both of us were like, WHAT IS THIS!!
It's worth pointing out that before Buffy, I had never really gotten into Sci-fi, or infact TV! Infact the whole entertainment world had escaped me. I owned exactly one CD at this point, and I had not brought it myself, or even asked for it.
Well from Welcome to the hellmouth, I was hooked. I tuned in every week without fail. I then started saving my pocket money for the videos. I was that desperate for them I brought the videos individually. Which thanks to Woolworths (a U.K shop,) I was able to. Of course this worked out much more exspensive than buying them individually, as my mum pointed out.
From then on, every Christmas and birthday all I wanted was Buffy stuff or money so I could buy it.
Since Buffy and Angel I have grown to love alot of other sci-fi shows and TV in general. The only problem is none of these shows will ever be as good as Buffy and Angel in my eyes. None of them has ever been able to capture the excitment I feel when I watch Buffy and Angel even now. I have never been more obsessed about anything in my life than Buffy and Angel.
I carry many special memories of Buffy from my life and for that alone I am grateful. When I was in primary school me and my friends used to play Buffy around school. We would become our favourite characters and have loads of childish fun, well i was 8 and 9 at the time. For some reason though my friends shut me out when a new girls started at the school, and they actually started bullying me. This left me pretty much a loner throughout the rest of primary school, luckily secondary school was the opposite, I had many true friends. There was one true friend I had during this time though, Buffy. While other kids were out playing with their friends, I was watching Buffy for hours each and every night. So I want to thank those Bullies for bringing me even closer to the Buffyverse. x
In secondary school I introducted alot of my friends to Buffy and Angel. They all loved it. The first episode I showed my best friend was Angel, I will remember You, from then on, she was hooked. I mananged to turn my two sisters into fans too. My brother too like a bit of Buffy and my mother, although thats mainly because she fancies Giles lol.
I'm 18 now and have finished college, but i'm still as hooked on it as I was 11 years ago.
I know I have rambled on ages but that what effect Buffy and Angel has on me. I hope this is the kind of post that your supposed to give as an introduction lol.: erm :
