Once again I am not defending Spike. He did take advantage of Buffy and that was not something he should have done, I do agree with that. Because he was soulless I can forgive him for that. To be fair, I think Buffy is still suffering from depression in s7 (and beyond), but during that season I'm fine with her relationship with Spike. I agree with the fact that s6 was abuse, but for example the kiss in OMWF was consensual, at least in my opinion.
I agree with your general comments, but you are talking more about chronic depression, Buffy isn't suffering from this disease, her depression is temporary and brought about circumstances, and as such it will get better, which if Spike thought he had a shot, he should have waited for this to happen, but he knew a none-depressed Buffy would send him packing. In these type of cases, I think that the previous argument stands up, what Spike does is tantamount to taking advantage of someone who is depressed or in the grieving process, he's basically Will Farrell in The Wedding Singers.
