I'm watching the Motion Comics

I'm watching the Motion Comics right now and there is like no mention of Anya's death. Xander is acting as if it didn't happen. Wtf

It's terrible the way they've treated her death. But I think I read somewhere that in between Chosen and the first comic, Xander stayed with Dracula to help deal with his grief. I could be making this up though?

Yeah I've read that in a canon comic, can't remember which, think it may be tales of the vampire but I'm not a hundred per cent sure.
