Yes, but the point is to turn the image into a link. The image I wanted to post is too large to simply put in on its own, so I make it a thumbnail and a link to the larger version.

Forgot to mention before that taking photobucket's ready-made coding for the same purpose resulted in the same weird video thing.

Make sure you're using a valid image .extension 🙂

Okay, here's a test...

Nope... it still comes up as the video box. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, I'm using the same code as I've always done.

Here's what I'm putting in, minus asterisks:

ETA: Just to say - for my art thread, when this problem occurred, I used tinypic to host the wallpaper and used the same code - it worked just fine.

Oh.. I see where the problem is now. Something to do with the Media Embedding plugin. Give me 5 minutes and I'll will have a look at the code.

I just tested this on my localhost and it works perfectly fine. So apparently photobucket changed up it's syntax and so meaning the definition and replacement code is required inorder to resolve this issue. Can you point [MENTION=2739]Darla[/MENTION] to this thread and request her to update the definition.

I've already tested on a vB3.8x board. So all you need to do is update the photobucket definition and replacement code.

It doesn't seem to be doing that for me at all with my files, whether I use JPG or PNGs. [MENTION=8100]xaphania[/MENTION]: Try posting again, but this time go into the actual "Post Reply" menu and once the URL is typed in with your image, uncheck the "automatically embed media" button. See if that solves the problem. 🙂

Are these the thumbnail links that your Photobucket gave you? They look like a totally different code than the ones it spits out for me.

I did that when it first happened, to see if it would help - it didn't, lol.

I usually type it manually, but when I got the video embed thing, I tried using photobucket's code as well and it did the same thing.
 
Hmm, well that's really strange! I'm sorry but I can't think of what else could be doing it. We'll maybe have to wait for an answer from an admin to know for sure what's going on, but in the meantime maybe stick to using that other image hosting site if you can?
