Where would you be living your life?

I'd either be a nun or an inmate in an insane asylum. Flipping between the two even in this time 😆

Based on family history I'd either be a teacher or a farmer. My mom used to be obsessed with Ancestry.com and has read about her side of the family as far back as it goes- she even has census info about her (and I guess my) ancestors who were born in the 1600's! I want to ask her more about where we came from, so I can know if I have any family history of convents or asylums 😆

Maybe a failed poet or writer with not enough wealth or talent to be successful in that era.

Or a typewriter.

I'd be a 38 year old man involuntarily sponging off of his mother cos he can't find a wife or a decent job with his limited level of skills and qualifications.

Oh wait, thats me now.

At least you have a sense of humour
If I'm going by my grandmothers then I'm a housewife with about 10 kids. Maternal grandmother had 7, paternal grandmother had 11!

If based on family - island folk making a living best way they could, including but not limited to, criminal enterprises (smuggling). So, I’d be on one of about ten islands, maybe working at the telegraph, being a carpenters wife, or living the high life on my husband’s ill gotten means.

That or a missionary and/or secretary.

Depending on which side of the family you go with.

Not many kids in either case, so, that’s something.

Well, not much different from my family 😆

-My grandfather should have become a priest (according to his parents), he didn't want it and ran away. He became a bricklayer (and an alcoholic), then he went to Africa, he got mentally ill for unknown reasons (or "possessed" according to him and my aunt) and he was looked up in a psychiatric facility.
-My grandmother didn't have a profession or job. After, she had mental illness.
-My father was a bricklayer (and an alcoholic).
-My aunt is an inmate in a psychiatric facility with schizophrenia and delusion of possession.
-My mother wanted to become a nun, but changed the idea. Now, she doesn't have a job, since she doesn't need it. I give money to her (I told her to not have a job and do want she wants)

I am a banker. Following them, I would have been in a psychiatric facility or a church or bricklayers (also because no one in my family even finished high school).

In the past, I don't think I would have survived without science and modern medicine, since I was born with the arteries of the heart reversed. I would have been dead.

Interesting history! Thats lovely that you support your mother too :)
If I was a man in another life I would like to be a milkman for a while- the ones who would drive around and deliver glass jars of milk to people's houses.

I dont actually know much family history beside my grandpa being a Reverend (?) In the uniting church. He was a big deal but I wasnt that close to him, emotionally or physically, they lived 3000kms away.

From what I do know, in another time would have been Scottish!

I'd probably be an MD, like my husband and daughter, instead of a PhD.
