I just want to take a moment and pray for those families that have been ripped apart because of this attack.

My cousin was killed in this attack. I didn't really know her but still another one of my family gone.
Her name was Diane.
It has been 2 years scince then but it still think about it.
I wonder every now and then (more now than ever) what it would be like if I had got to know her better.

I hate the people responsible for 9-11.
I really hate Bin Lauden(sp).

So a moment to reflect.
Thank You.

I read a pretty poem about it so here it is dunno if y'all have seen it.....

A Dad's Poem
Her hair was up in a pony tail,
her favorite dress tied with a bow.
Today was Daddy's Day at school,
and she couldn't wait to go.
But her mommy tried to tell her,
that she probably should stay home.
Why the kids might not understand
if she went to school alone.
But she was not afraid;
she knew just what to say.
What to tell her classmates
of why he wasn't there today.
But still her mother worried,
for her to face this day alone.
And that was why once again she tried to keep
her daughter home.
But the little girl went to school,
eager to tell them all.
About a dad she never sees
a dad who never calls.
There were daddies along the wall in back,
for everyone to meet.
Children squirming impatiently,
anxious in their seats.
One by one the teacher called,
a student from the class.
To introduce their daddy,
as seconds slowly passed.
At last the teacher called her name,
every child turned to stare.
Each of them was searching,
for a man who wasn't there.
"Where's her daddy at?"
she heard a boy call out.
"She probably doesn't have one,"
another student dared to shout
And from somewhere near the back,
she heard a daddy say,
"Looks like another deadbeat dad,
too busy to waste his day."
The words did not offend her,
as she smiled up at her Mom.
And looked back at her teacher,
who told her to go on.
And with hands behind her back,
slowly she began to speak.
And out from the mouth of a child,
came words incredibly unique.
"My Daddy couldn't be here,
because he lives so far away.
But I know he wishes he could be,
since this is such a special day.
And though you cannot meet him,
I wanted you to know.
All about my daddy, and how much he loves me so.
He loved to tell me stories
he taught me to ride my bike.
He surprised me with pink roses,
and taught me to fly a kite.
We used to share fudge sundaes,
and ice cream in a cone.
And though you cannot see him,
I'm not standing here alone.
"Cause my daddy's always with me,
even though we are apart
I know because he told me,
he'll forever be in my heart"
With that, her little hand reached up,
and lay across her chest.
Feeling her own heartbeat,
beneath her favorite dress.
And from somewhere in the crowd of dads,
her mother stood in tears.
Proudly watching her daughter,
who was wise beyond her years.
For she stood up for the love
of a man not in her life.
Doing what was best for her,
doing what was right.
And when she dropped her hand back down,
staring straight into the crowd.
She finished with a voice so soft,
but its message clear and loud.
"I love my daddy very much,
he's my shining star.
And if he could, he'd be here,
but heaven's just too far
You see he was a fireman
and died just this past year
When airplanes hit the towers
and taught Americans to fear.
But sometimes when I close my eyes,
it's like he never went away."
And then she closed her eyes,
and saw him there that day.
And to her mother's amazement,
she witnessed with surprise.
A room full of daddies and children,
all starting to close their eyes.
Who knows what they saw before them,
who knows what they felt inside
Perhaps for merely a second,
they saw him at her side.
"I know you're with me Daddy,"
to the silence she called out.
And what happened next made believers,
of those once filled with doubt.
Not one in that room could explain it,
for each of their eyes had been closed.
But there on the desk beside her,
was a fragrant long-stemmed pink rose.
And a child was blessed, if only for a moment,
by the love of her shining bright star.
And given the gift of believing,
that heaven is never too far.
They say it takes a minute to find a
special person,
An hour to appreciate them, a day to love them,
but then an entire life to forget them.

I always thought that was really pretty its sad that, people could actually do something like what happened on September 11th 🙁

I dont know wot to say..so Im Sorry and R.I.P to all those people who was killed in that horrible attack.

My friend wrote a poem about 9-11, and I published it in the school newspaper(with her concent) I'll have to see if I can find the school newspaper it's in, but it was called "the mighty dragon" and the dragon represented the u.s. and what happened when we were faced with tragedy..it was good. I wish I could find where I put that paper...

Oh wow. I had recieved that from a friend before but reading it again I still have to cry. It was a very terrible thing that happened. I too would like to offer my condolences to those that have been effected by that awful day. I light a candle for all that we lost that day. God Bless. Great thread BTW.

that poem is so sad..and sorry to Angelic about your cousin. I'm so sorry for everyone who lost anyone on 9-11, one of my teachers ex-husband died..i didn't know him but still, it was sad

I had a couple people I know lose people in the WTCs - but I never knew anybody personally. I remember being in school when it happened, and we went into a lockdown. Pretty scary to think that it could ever happen again. It's a day you don't ever forget.

I hope everybody who has been affected is able to cope as best they can with the up-coming anniversary.🙁

damn...9-11...i remembered how everything seemed so surreal...my teacher still wanted to teach in class..she did...but i was like...falk...we should be watching the tele...not learning about language...

its funny cause all the way out here in Hawaii...many people still felt the effects over here...seems like it wouldn't just from the distance...but we did...cause choke people knew someone that was in the attack...just shows how connected we all are...

don't worry angelic...justice is being dealt...

I know we got out of school early that day my teacher almost passed out though he lost his sister, and another teacher of mine thought he lost his wife so for 2 days he was sick and crying and all worried... God we all felt so bad for them that we actually were good in class for about a week. should have been longer 🙁

I'm from Australia and when it was broadcast everyone was in total shock! Businesses kinda shut down for the day everyone was just staring at the TV like in a trance.......it was like they just couldn't digest what had happened.

I remember being in school on 9-11. All the teachers were all crying and no one would tell us why. All the military kids were being pulled out of class, and others. We all knew something was wrong, but they felt that if they told us, it'd cause panic, but I know I was more paniced becaused I didn't know what was going on.

I think I got that poem in an email once, it's sad. 🙁 I couldn't bring myself to read it again

it was a surreal day like it just wasnt real it was soo horrible and i had 2 stay in school late cause on the same day somebody robbed a house near where i live- there are some sick sick people.....

Thank you guys.
