It seems like Connor is going to be replaced by Spike in season 5, I was just wondering; who would you rather have in season 5?

I think that in the light of what's to happen Spike fits in better, besides Connor's exit is great!
But still, I prefer Connor!

Spike but I think that before being a member of the cast, I would like to see a couple of episodes as a guest star or recurring character just to see if he fit well it everyone.
I just prey that the kid is COMPLETELY OUT of the picture unless he has a major attitude change.
I know that he is gone but I'm still a Groo fan and since Cordelia was infected by Skip, in season 3, maybe she'll go back to her formal self and reconsider mysteriously Groo.

Spike. He could give alot more to the seriers then Connor. Also I think Gwen will proberly turn up for a few episodes next season but I don't think she has her own place in the credits just yet. As for Groo, you never know. He was on a Saturday morning show in the UK this morning promoting Angel (with Lorne and Darla).

I cannot stand Conner. Bring in Spike and all his hottness!!!! I dont watch Angel all the time but I definitly would if Spike was a cast member or series regular.

Connor, because the show has worked hard to become more than just a Buffy spin off, it doesn't need some 40 year old Buffy cast off that monopolizes the screen to show up and kick out good characters.

I love connor (GOD YOU GUYS HAVE NOOOO IDEA HOW MUCH) But If I had a choice it would be Spike, we need a new (Old) face in the show.....something now, a different aproach would be great.

I really, really can't see Spike fitting in at all.
Connor would be great, but only if he comes back as a completely different person, who doesn't remember any of season 3/4. He seemed cheerful in the last moments of season 4 and he would be much more fun like that. The show is dark enough already.
I already said this in a different thread, but if he was introduced properly, he could take it very well. I would be pretty impressed if someone came up to me and said:
"You're a superhuman, and we need your help to save the world" or something similar.
Also as *Lost Angel* says, the show needs a new approach, and this would be a better way to get one than just bringing over an old face from Buffy.

I have HATED Connor (but Vncents sooo sweet) since he told Darla that she was not his mother...... i cried when i saw her and all through that episode.... *Bless*
Spike would be much better.... i mean all the fights and quarrels between Spike and Angel.. who wants to miss that? It's gonna be jokes next season.....

I have a feeling that my opinions may change once I've seen Buffy's final episode. There is great potential for Spike to return to the dark side.
I believe Connor's character to have been a victim of bad writing and direction. At the end of season 3 he had so much potential. With that oober-cool intro. Cleverly betraying his dad as a result of his misguided upbringing. He was going to kick ass. The only problem was-he didnt!! He became whiney and moany and a puppet for everyone with an IQ over 5. Then was written out. I'm glad charisma has had a baby but its screwed Angel right up the ass as a series. It would have been better to leave Cordy out altogether this season and take it a different path.
The Beast storyline was AMAZING. Having Angelus kill him so quickly was made incredibly lame by the fact he was neutered himself almost immediately. They should have kept the Beast around. An unstoppable adversary is very cool. The writers were sorta clever by having Angelus out-think everyone at AI, to kill the Beast, but in the end the only person he out-smarted was himself.
I loved the first half of season 4, but was admittedly disappointed with the whole Jasmine sebacticle.
Angel has great potential in season 5 to come back stronger than ever. However, there is much more room for it become crap. This whole W&H thing has me worried. It's a little too much like Alias. You know...the whole big operation centre, tech dept, etc. But I guess I'll have to wait and see. Don't get me wrong, I think Alias is VERY cool but that's a whole other thing to Angel.
I cannot see how Spike will fit. If he's a regular he can't be a baddie. But this is the only role I can see him in. Unless he will reprise his Buffy season 4 persona-trying to destroy AI secretly from inside.
Anyhow that's my overlong opinion!!😀
