I wonder what has happened to those eggs that Buffy overlooked. What do you think? What is your best scenario? They definitely hatched way before Sunnydale High got destroyed...

They laid a few potential nuggets like that in S1. The same thing happened with the invisible girl, Marcy Ross, towards the end of the season. Most likely, they had some ideas for those in reserve, but the fan reaction wasn't overly positive and they were scrapped.

I always took it as a cliched horror ending, which seems typical for the tone of season 1, not that I minded. I like to think about an assassin marcy ross running around somewhere, along with several baby mantises frolicking around the hellmouth 🙂

That's what I think too. I never expected a sequel to any of those stories.

I've honestly never thought about that! Marcie would have been way scarier as a big bad than the annoited one, I wish she had come back!

Plus the fact they never picked those stories back up leaves imagination for the viewers!

HAHA! That would be very funny to see.

I felt sorry for her because I know how it feels to be ignored in school....Well I wasn't necessarily ignored, I was just one of those people who everyone was cool with or had no problems with and I had my own circle of friends

I'm glad they didn't bring the 'mantabies' back into it, the show changed tone during season 2 and moved away from demons like that.

But Marcie Ross was something they totally should have dealt with in Season 4! They set up the whole government thing in season 1, they should have had Professor Walsh call in one of the government assassins to take out Buffy and it ended up being Marcie.

I think their relatives took them back to South America, those guys:

I totally agree. I always thought, when we saw The Initiative, that Marcie was going to pop back up. I would have loved that, 'cause I always liked her character and story. Plus, anytime Buffy has to fight without seeing her foe is pretty cool. 🙂

I very much doubt it. I think they were just supposed to be twist endings, or at the very least, sinister endings, much like the X-Files used to do during the early monster-of-the-week episodes.

Leaving a remnant behind that could come back is a standard item in horror movies. Look at "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes" where they finally wipe out the tomatoes and the carrots start saying, "It's our turn now."

BTW, there was a sequel, "Return of the Killer Tomatoes". Both movies are a lot more fum than they were supposed to be.

Brilliant. I had completely forgotten about her by that point. Would have been a nice twist. The only reference I can remember of Marcie was when Buffy brought Dawn to her first day of school. And was warning her about fish people and invisible girls.

I'm with Xin Rong on this one. Just a typical horror ending.
Like, for example in A Nightmare on Elmstreet
when the car's top has the same color as Fred Krueger's sweater and all that
or maybe the ending of Carrie.

I was thinking of Carrie
Please Marcie would not come back to Sunnydale thats small potatoes compared to the damage she could cause internatanaly.
At lest not not till Buffy became a global threat (end of S7)that they would use Marcie in such a way

I would love to write about the towns reaction to the loss of Sunnydale as news poured in about its collapse.

Musetta Vander

Has anyone seen Musetta Vander the actress who plays Ms. French in other films? i remember her from Mortal Kombat Annihilation as Sindel.
