I think season 1 was the best season of Angel, its gotten very dark recently ive noticed, i liked it when Wesley was all clumbsy and Cordelia was how she was at high school, with a little more maturity.
 
I like it better this way, more mature, darker ... nice climate, lol!
 
The environment on Angel now is far better and gets better with every episode. This season of Angel surpasses it's first both by creativity and suspense. The writing has improved drastically sinse the first season. The show only "found itself" towards the end of Season 2.

I wasnt overly impressed with the second half of season 3 and definatly think season 1 was the best wesley is my favourite character, hes been put back behind frigging Gunn who i dont like anywhere near as much. You hardly see wes no more, he certainly doesnt get his own episode like gunn did. I havent seen 4 so maybe he gets a bigger part back.
 
I really like season 1 cordy over season 4 cordy, I also liked the fact that Doyle was on in season 1, but Wesley looks hott in season 4, Also Fred wasn't on in season 1 and neither was Lorne (at least not so far, I just finished watching Hero). So I'm kind of wanting a mixture of the seasons. Get rid of evil pregnant cordy, bring back queen c, get rid of connor and bring back doyle (i know, not gonna happen, but I can wish can't I?). Have Angel be the way he is, keep Faith (something going for both seasons, faith appearances 🙂 ) That would be awesome.

I loved season one, especially The Ring. It's a shame that Doyle was only in it for the first half of the eps 'cos he was an excellent character. I gotta say though. I do love the new Wesley from season 4, the darker, brooding and altogether better dressed Wes.
 
season 1 was definatly the best, I remember the clutsy wes and the sarcastic whitty Cordy, how cool Kate the cop was, *sigh* first season was the best, it's too sappy and dark now
 
Cordelia was great in the first season. I loved her sarcasim and snootyness. She just added a bit of humor to the show

I like Season 1 a lot but as the show goes on and the characters develop I think it becomes better every time. I like the way everything started. And I really like the way Cordelia and Wes develop over the seasons.

Season 1 had Doyle und Kate*miss very much* but it doesn't have Fred or Gun or Lilah or Gwen or *LORNE* (big Lorne-Fan here!).

I also think the in the first season you notice a lot that Angel is a spin off of Buffy. Later on the show becomes more of a show of its own - am I making any sense here?
 
Yes your making sense lol
i think season 1 had huge pluses such as Doyle and the cool Cordy lol but then it didnt have fred and lorne as you say,so i think the other season are better as in s1 i think the show was finding its feet if you know whjat i mean lol
