In the buffyverse is good the absence of evil?

in series 7 with the first it suggested to me that good is the absence of evil, a person doesnt have good in them they just dont have evil, i think this because there was the first evil made up of all the evil in the world but where was the first good made up of all the good in the world, at first i thought the powers that be but they dont come to earth, they are more like ying to the yang that is the senior partners but the first is the ying with no yang if anyone gets what i mean

I don't think good is an absence of evil. Especially in the case of humans as we are all fallable. I think being a good person essentially means that over all your choices reflect more good than evil.

Having and celebrating good with little or no evil is what counts. The goal is not only to elimante evil while maintaing the peace but to also bring good out of any bad stiuation that arises. This way the light outshines the darkness.
