The French were very confident that they were gonna kick everyone's butt in swimming. And they didn't kick as much butt as they thought they were going to.

We've been watching it every night it's on. I find it fascinating. Those people who have devoted their lives to be in the Olympic games and compete to be the best. I personally feel exceptional when America medals (I'm sure the athletes want to win for personal reasons and to bring the medals back to their country.)

And of course, when other countries are given higher scores over Americans competing in the same event, you know I get all whipped up in a tizzy! 🙂 It's just fun.

I had to watch swimming just so I could say Ive seen a legend! Go Michael Phelps! Also I watched gymnastics cuz ive been Shawn Johnson's hometown of Des Moines, Iowa like a hundred times, my relatives live there

Shawn Johnson is amazing, especially on beam her routine has near perfect.

But it isn't like I need to do it to see Belgium winning or something, since their number of medailles is still on zero -.-. In comparing with Slovenia (5 times less people than here, I read somewhere), they have already 1 gold 1 silver and 2 bronzes...
But I know that when I was on seaside watching tv, I saw Michael P. swimming and woooow, he's FAST.
 
I will say that I watched the male synchronized divers and greatly enjoyed the Chinese. They were pure muscle and super hot. I won't lie; I leered. I'm sure that's not what the athletes are going for -- to be leered at rather than appreciated on higher levels -- but whatever. My husband had the same reaction to the female beach volleyball women (the Americans).

I've been watching bits here and there. Mostly because the majority of it is shown in the morning and lunchtime here...and I'm still in bed!

But I was happy today because the girl who won gold in the 400 metres for team GB used to go to my school. That's my claim to fame lol.
 
Wuuu we have our first medaille, though it's silver, but still! It was for 4x100 m running. Saturday we might win a second medaille, in some category for jumping. I hope we win it 😀.
 
I only bothered keeping up with the Archery but I've been watching a few events, the Badminton was fun but the English played dirty the whole time as usual.
 
The olympics are ok, the athletics are the best but i'll be watching Egan Kenny tomorrow, he's in light heavyweight boxing final, and could get a Gold for Ireland.
 
Egan Kenny couldnt manage a Gold then, damn, still didnt get any, but still fair play to him me still got silver. (boxing?? anyone see?)

Nope...we are yet again gold medal-less. For such a sports mad country we really do not excell at the Olympics.
 
They should put Irish sports into the Olympics, then there would be a few golds. Why not! If there is 'so called' sports like.... riding a horsey, or shooting a target, or, or... or... im sure theres a few other silly events too, so if these *sports* can enter, Ireland should enter their ACTUAL sports.
 
We would definitely win gold then, considering that we would be the only ones playing lol!

Hmmm, hopefully. Imagine that, 10 pints infront of you that you gotta down the fastest. Or Beer Bong marathon. But it'd be left up to the Irish seeing there would be no comp from Scots. although, the Aussies or Russians could take em(maybe):santa2:

All over for another 4 years 🙁 Was fun watching though we didnt do as well as we have in the last few olympics.
Also willy, I'd love to see you stay on horse at that level 😛 especially after all those beers 😀
 
I think Canada won 18 medals in total, and came in 19th place. not bad...but not good either... 😛 But I LOVED the closing ceremony! it was amazing!
