In which season was Buffy the best slayer?

Well, she gets better with every season but I'm going with either 5 or 7.

I agree with [MENTION=8401]david4wt[/MENTION]. She's best as a Slayer in seasons 5 and 7. I'd say season 5 trumps season 7, though. In S5, she amps up her training both mentally (meditation focus) and physically, fiercely and successfully protects Dawn, pwns the Council, and much else besides. She's too overbearing in S7, not a good quality for a leader, seeing as she also lost the trust of the Potentials and Scoobies (however much of a plot contrivance it may be).
 
I think season 7. Atleast in the way the council and the shadowmen would have defined it. She was focused, ready to make tough decisions, able to lead reasonably well (still had some kinks to work out) and a experienced fighter(actually, when I think about it, slayers were suppose to be followers not leaders, so scratch that, the watchers wouldn't want that). I'm sad to say that I would have to agree with them. While I think Buffy was a better person in season 5, and the other seasons, she was a better slayer in season 7. Or a better warrior, since I want to include her leadership qualities.
 
With every season the Big Bads got Bigger and Badder...so I think she had it easiest season 1. I never expected Buffy to lose a battle in season 1... so one could argue she was best then for not failing at any battles. But then again season 7 Buffy would probably whoop Season 1 Buffy..so I think the true answer is 7. 😛
 
I know Buffy was a badass in S7, leading her *troops* into the final battle, but imo it was in S5 when she was at her lowest that she showed the most strength. 🙂 That is the season I really fell in love with her character.
 
I love her in all seasons, but I'm actually gonna say season 2 here.... I think she deals with angel turning to angelus.... she loses her virginity to the first man she ever really loves and fully trusts and he turns into a monster.... and her "me" moment when she catches his blade and totally turns the fight around. That moment.... That is buffy at her best, I think.
 
I thinik Buffy was at her best as a Slayer in Season 5. We actually saw her actively training and working to better understand her Slayer gifts, as well as working harder to get the bad guys. 😉
