In Your Opinion, Who's The Fifth Scooby?

Who makes their place in the Scoobies just below the core four but above others?

Anya; she was there in season 3 throughout the finale. She was the 5th Scooby.

Dawn. She's the only character that is loved by all 4 of them.

S2: Cordelia.
S3: Oz.
S4 to 6: Anya.
S7 to 10: Dawn.

I voted for Dawn because she is the current fifth Scooby.

Anya, Tara and Buffy's 'love interest' up and left when love soured, so they don't count. But Dawn had and still has a connection with the core four as soon as she turned up.

Anya, then Tara, then Spike. Based on how much they were incorporated into the group.

I'm going with Anya. She was accepted by all of them, somewhat reluctantly but for better or worse, into the group and she played a weird but consistent role.

Also, the fifth Scooby would be parallel to Scooby himself, and if Xander is Shaggy then Anya is Scooby, except she's always jonesing for sex rather than Scoobysnacks.

I've gotta go with Anya. She was accepted by everyone at some point and was expected to help out with research, planning, and fighting. Buffy was the only one who wanted Spike around, everyone tried to keep Dawn out of everything until the end, Tara was mostly touted as "Willow's girlfriend" outside of a couple eps, and the others were just very periodic.

And magic, as she was a key element at keeping Grey Willow at bay initially.

I would say Angel for seasons 1 through 3, but then after he leaves maybe Anya, she helped from the ascension onwards

Yea it depends on the seasons. Originally I'd say Cordy, then Oz, then Anya and Tara then Dawn. I don't count the vampires they never really fit in with the gang.

S10 is Spike, but on TV, it was Anya. She fought, she did research, she provided useful information from her times as a demon, and even after breaking up with Xander, she came back end helped. And she died fighting.

Spike was only after Dawn. She was his ticket into the group (along with getting a soul).

I baffled by how many people are saying Anya. To me, Anya was never really accepted by Willow or Buffy. It always felt like they just tolerated her.

But she was part of the gang. I think more than Tara was.

That's a tough question. They kind of alternated depending on the season and sometimes even the show. The only ones who are really in the race for the title are Anya, Tara and Spike IMO.

That's sort of the problem with Anya, though. She should have been a great asset to the Scoobies with her 1100-year-old knowledge of demons and magic and yet all she's used for is the jokes. Actually the same might be said for Tara. Really anyone outside the core four is underutilised, unless you're a vampire. But that's the thing I'm not going to argue with anyone about who is the fifth member, it's mostly a preference of character, there is no clear winner.

I would say Dawn . She was a part of them from the get go. I would say Faith but they never let her in.
I wonder why people are saying Anya but as the saying goes "You got to have Faith " . LOL 😀

Really, Anya was just LOUD and talked a lot. I don't rate that as 'part of the group'.
Oz and Tara were quieter but always seemed to fit better with both Buffy and Xander after their 'introductory' season - 2/4 respectively.
