Inca Mummy Girl

When She Was Bad...Excuse MUCH, Rude or ANYTHING?

Oh man, could Buffy have been a bigger bitch in this episode?

Always felt the harsh treatment of her friends was done for two reasons.

To vent her frustration and push them all away, which meant she also cared about Cordy. Once again, the main cast was impressive.

Loved the scene when Zander read her the riot act in the library. And the final scene with the three of them in the classroom.

Whedon's "less is more" approach was the right way to play it.

Plus it showed how S0LID the friendship is between Buffy, Zander and my girl Willow.

Don't recall much about the EVIL TODDLER, hopefully Buffy takes him over her knee soon.

"I Hate that Girl!" :lmao:

Basicially this ep to me was a preview of how Buffy would be in S6 except the bitchy attitude.
I agree, I was like "Damn, Buffy!" when I watched this episode. The first time I saw this episode, I hadn't seen "Prophecy Girl" yet, so I didn't understand why she was acting like that, and then when I got S1 on DVD and was able to watch all the eps I had missed the first time around, I was like "OHHH, that explains a lot."
It was sad to see her doing the sexy dance with Xander, 'cause she only did it to hurt Willow and to play with Xander's and Angel's emotions. But YAY for Cordelia's little alley speech- that was cool. 🙂

Yeah I felt bad for them, that was very cruel.

Yeah, Buffy was a major bitca. I watched it and I wanted to punch her in the head. =)
Although that sexy dance with Xander was, well, sexy.

Eskimo Willow and Oz were the best things about this episode.

Forgot that Doyle from "Gilmore Girls" appeared on Buffy.

As with InsaneMystic, this was the first Buffy episode I ever watched, when if first aired back in 1998. I wasn't impressed by it either, which is why I didn't continue watching the series (and only started getting into it four years ago, upon a friend's recommendation). For some reason, though, the final battle between Ampata and Buffy seemed less spectacular the second time around. And I also agree that Eskimo Willow was probably the best part of the episode 🙂.

I am completely TERRIFIED of mummies, so I don't particularly like this episode... buuut Eskimo Willow is too cute for words.

Yes she is! Willow is so adorable in the earlier seasons!
I have one episode in each season that i do not like as much as the others and for season 2 this one has to be that one for me. Like others have said it is quite boring compared to other ones. I am watching it now as a type and although i love one bit of this episode (Willow dressed as an eskimo - she looks so cute) the rest of it is boring me so much that i am speding more time typing on here about it. 😛

I can sit through any episode of Buffy, there are some that aren't that great, they're usually standalones.
The worst episode for me EVER is Some Assembly Required. I still sit and watch it if I'm doing a rewatch. It's got some hilarious lines but the storyline is boring.

Eskimo Willow is definitely the best thing about this episode. And also Cordelia with her exchange student.
"Punchy, fruity, drinky. Is Cordelia even from this country?" hahah

I agree about the hated for "Some Assembly Required". Hated that episode...
I love this episode because it was the introduction of Oz and the music of Four Star Mary which I thinks goes with Buffy's high school years so well.

I don't completely hate this episode, but it's not one of my favorites. It did give us Oz and the Dingoes, so that is a big plus, and Cordelia acting like Sven was mentally challenged and then him talking to that chick about her at the Bronze later was funny...
At first I wished they could find a way to make Ampata human and she and Xander could be together, 'cause they were so cute. But of course, Joss doesn't like to make his characters eternally happy, hence Ampata had to be killed.

Thank you! Finally somebody (kinda) agrees with me!
I think her character could have been developed more. She deserved a chance to finally have a life that was taken from her by her people.
And what's the deal with Joss' habit of destroying love-to-be anyway??? Man, some chicks must have REALLY messed up Joss when he was in high school or something. What's his major malfunction?!

Hilarious....as soon as i saw the name Inca Mummy Girl thread...i wanted to come on here and say how much i disliked it....like you said...its enjoyable...but one of my least favourite episodes. I hate to say i hate any Buffy episodes....so i am content with simply disliking it. im not sure why.....i dont really like the girl who plays the mummy, not a huge fan of the plot, it was just kind dumb. But i guess nothing can be perfect. Its one of those episodes i have only seen one or two times and dont feel the need to watch ever again. hahaha

oh sorry...yes Oz...that is an important plot turn....so therefore....good and plus Oz.....cute!!!

It's probably not one of the best episodes, no, but I don't think it was that bad! And the whole Willow/Oz thing just made the whole ep. Seriously, that's probably the cutest thing I've ever seen, with Oz asking "who is that girl?". Willow was beyond the maximum level of adorable in the eskimo suit.

Agreed! I don't mind this episode at all.
This isn't the worst episode ever, but it is far from the best. The best part of this episode was the way Oz started his Willow Quest 😀
