Everytime I watch this episode I have to admit that I feel sorry for both Xander and the Girl.

Xander strikes out for the second time with women. His first attemt is a teacher that is a bug, this girl is an Incan mummy and later Cordelia things go wrong though she at least is a full human and then Anja who isn't exactly normal and human.

Then there's the girl who only wanted to be normal and have friends and maybe a little love thrown in but her life was ruined hundreds of years earlier because of the religious thing. It was a pity that she had kill people to survive because I think that she and Xander would've got on well.
 
I agree... I thought- before she started killing folks- the girl was so cute with Xander. And then she tries to kill him, so sorry for XanMan, but then you think about the fact that she was sentenced to an eternity of a life she didn't choose and it's sad for her. 🙁 It's depressing on both counts.
 
I really liked 'First Date' when Xander decided to be gay. "Gay me up! Let's gay! Let's get this gay show on the gay road!" It woulda been interesting to actually see him go through with it, and go on a date with a guy. I HATED Inca Mummy Girl. It wasn't really a good episode IMO.

I have to admit that by the time Seth became a regular, I was glad he ditched the facial hair... He wasn't cute with the facial hair. LOL But yes, Willow made the cutest Eskimo. 😀
 
No, I LOVE Seth with facial hair. But yeah, only for these days. He didn't look so good with facial hair back in those days.

Oh, I like this episode. It's sad because you can't hate her like you hate other bad guys. It's like you don't know who's right or wrong. It reminded me of Pangs. And yeah, Ampata and Xander looked cute together. 🙂
 
I also felt sorry for Willow in this episode, you could tell that she had some feeling for Xander, also at that time she was ultra shy hence the reason she always kept herself fully covered, remember she did the same at Halloween.

Yep, Nicely said. Finally got a hold of the season two boxset of Buffy and when I watched this episode, I really felt sympathetic towards the girl. She had her life taken away from her for a sacrifice and all she wanted was to have a normal life.

My sympathy did dissapear when she started killing innocent people.

Still it is one of my favourite episodes. 🙂
 
I feel sorry for him too. The guy just doesn't have luck with girl. Well, it seems no one in Sunnydale has. All of them have boyfriends/girlfriends that are nor humans, dead or gone. Oh poor Xander, but I so think they wouldn't work out 🙂
