Inglorious Basterds

I've seen the film twice already, so yeah, I loved it. 😀 Every scene is great, and you just want more by the time it's done. I think the rewriting of WW2 was not a problem; it's just a movie - a QT movie, so not something to take so seriously. I really liked the fact that some things were accurate, like the Germans actually speaking German, and then have complete made up stuff in it too. I loved August Diehl in it, he’s a great actor. And Christoph Waltz just stole the whole movie.

Was August Diehl the guy that played Zoller?

Man i cant wait till it comes out on dvd, i'll be getting it the first day it does.

August Diehl was the Nazi Major in the bar scene.
The music had a Sergio Leone spaghetti western feel to it which was just bang on! The slow story telling was classic QT. I'm glad he shyed away from his usual cast of characters for this movie. If he had of used them it would have taken away the "fantasy" of his re-written WWII story. If say he had of used Thurman I would have been waiting for the sword and yellow jumpsuit.
This movie IMO is an Oscar front runner. Not to mention it just screams sequel! Who doesn't want to see what the Basterds did to gain such a reputation of fear with the Germans?

Ah, yes he was great. It was only after watching it twice that i appreciated his performance. It also took me two times to realise that he was in the 3rd chapter and hes the one that picked Shosanna up!

Apparently hes written half the script of a prequel. Seeing how successfull its been im sure the weinsteins will be pushing him to make it.

Haha, it took me a second viewing to realise that too. I know a lot of people think that bar scene goes on too long, that there's too much talking (it's a Tarantino film, what did they expect?) but it's my favourite scene in the movie.

Hmm, I dunno about a prequel. I'm not too big on sequels or prequels, and I hated the second Kill Bill. Plus this film feels kinda unique, I don't know if I'd want it spoiled by a crappier version. But then if they do have all the same actors, it could be good for a watch.

Im with ya man, the bar scene is my favourite, the buildup was great and the whole thing finished with a 7 second climax. Awesome!

If Qt does one it will be good no doubt about it. But yeah i agree, i dont want it to be spoiled in any way, so im content with one movie.

Nymphetamine:

I'd say its a drama/action/black comedy.

Its Blacktion Dramedy.

I really loved it !
Mélanie Laurant is awesome and wonderful and Diane Kruger is lovely ( you should watch her in "Pour Elle" ( a french movie) she's incredible in it!)
Brad Pitt is really hilarious.

I saw it for the third time tonight. 😀 I love it! And I love seeing people's reactions around me while watching, knowing what scenes are coming up.

Especially the tavern/basement scene, my mum kept gasping haha

Haha, yeah! It's surprising how quiet it gets in the cinema when people are watching, I'm so used to people rustling and whispering and stuff, but with this it was so tense that everyone was totally fixated on it.

I think I'm slightly obsessed. Is it wrong I want to go see it a fourth time? (sw)

Definitely not! I'm with you! An you right, must be fun to watch how people react when you already know what will happen...

bahaha!
Saw it for the fourth time last night. (sw) I  it.

I saw this movie and Brad Pitt's accent is terrible.

Overrall I give 6/10. I was tempted to walk out. And I never do that.

Dammnit bluebird! I have to wait for the dvd release to watch it again, is this a race or something? haha!

Haha, maybe...

I bought an Unlimited card for Cineworld cinemas so I can see as many films as I want to without buying a ticket, so that makes it easier. 😛 I probably wouldn't go see one film four times if it was £7 each time.
