OK, so my visits to the lovely boards are going to be a little sporadic (maybe non-existant) for a little while, since I've seperated a ligament in my shoulder. It hurts like crazy to type, so I'm not going to be around much for a week or so. Just wanted to let y'all know (so you can miss me!) and ask:

What's the weirdest or most painful injury you've ever suffered? Or just run through a list, like this:

In 19 years of life I have:
Broken both pinkie toes, twice each
Broken my right big toe
Sprained my right wrist once and my left twice
Sprained my right ankle twice and my left once
cracked my head open (well, ok, not OPEN) in a cave, and required 12 stitches
seperated my AC ligament in my right shoulder
plus numerous bruises, cuts, scrapes contusions etc. I was a clumsy kid 😉

Anyway, see y'all when this crap heals up :love2:

You should wear steel-toed boots. :D
Hmmm.... well.... I've had several... and I really can't remember them all... But here's a list:

broken several toes several times
dislocated shoulder, collarbone, and thumb
sprained everything atleast once
cracked/bruised/broken ribs
cracked sternum
broken elbow
several concussions... cant remember how many exactly, and now I have short term memory loss.... who are you again? 😀

Theres several other things... I almost cut off my pinkie finger with a safety pumpking carving knife when I was 12... Long story...

Haven't really had any wierd injuries, I've not been injured much at all. But I have a few anyway:

Sprained my wrists and ankles few times
Concussion
Got some infected wounds on my hands from an angry cat
.. I also have bruises on my legs almost all the time, don't really know what I did to get them though..

Hope you get better soon Anchovy!

Too many black eyes and fat lips to mention. (cause, hey, I like to argure, and if they punch me, they have a chance of winning)

Broken pinky finger. (My gym teacher told my parents, the only time he tried to do something right, he broke his finger).

Lost a fingernail. (Sanded it off in shop)

Broken leg. (Got hit by a bus)

Other than that, I've been pretty charmed. I think I have an Angel. I got hit head-on by a truck one time, and another time I fell off a mountain. Didn't get a scratch either time. 😀

I've luckily never broken anything, and its quite a surprise.

With my epilepsy, during a fit I tried to climb out a second floor window, two janitors had to stop me. I can't remember a thing.

I've went unconcious at football games, in the swimming pool, cracked my head off numerous floors.

Fell over the dog/cat and fell both down and up the stairs. Passed out in a bar in New York due to migranes. Past out just the other week at work as well.

During lectures, on the school bus, in the canteen of numerous work places. I did fall when drunk, I tripped and got a fat lip, broke my glasses as I was out of contacts, and was covered in bruises.

As a result of all my falling i've got sciatica, not much head trauma due to a thick skull and lots of hair.

One friend has put me in hospital twice by knocking me out, another knocked me out on a bus, simply by leaning back on me as I was going forward and we clashed.

One of the funniest is when I went for a walk with a certain BB member, across fields and into an old ruin, ducked when we saw the farmer and I done my knee in. It never felt it at the time because I was still pretty drunk, but when I woke up later I was in agony.

That is the scariest thing ever, I can't even think about it, gah.. I've got this thing with nails.. they scare me, uh.. yea..

I never get injured, not really. I mean I'm always in a bit of pain 'cause of my neck and back, but I think the most "injured" I've ever been was when I fell (or whatever) and.. um.. ended up with a hole through my chin/lip. Well, I always sprained my ankles when I was a kid, but not anymore... Could have something to do with me not moving a lot, I'm usually sitting still in front of my iBook, lol...
When I was a kid, I always wanted to break something though... And I also thought wheelchairs were the coolest things, um yea, I was weird, eh...

Forgive my ignorance Boss....but how exactly does one fall UP the stairs? 😛

Ok, injuries...hmmm, well I'm pretty much the rookie around here in comparison to the ones already mentioned.

I broke my right ankle once at age 10 when I jumped off a tree branch. It still hurts if I do any excessive walking.

Had my nose dislocated once when I was 18. Ever had your nose molded back into place by a doctor? Not fun. I fought a lot as a teen, and I was always getting hit on my nose. Never actually broke it though. It's probably the toughest thing on my body. Lol.

When I was 25 and working as a regular unarmed guard, I tore open three big holes over my right knuckles when I threw a punch at one of my supervisors, and my fist caught against his top teeth (he was yelling at the time, so his mouth was in motion when the punch came.)

I've been injury-free ever since. Well, there was that time I ran my manrocks into my weight bench a couple of years ago at high speed (forgot it was there), but that wouldn't qualify as an injury.....although the pain was quite intense.......

You punched a supervisor?

As for falling up the stairs its quite easy. I was halfway up and my cat was winding around my feet and I tripped while in motion and fell upwards.

lol i fall up stairs too, tho with me its more a thing that the stairs and my feet have arguements. see my feet think all stairs should be same height once you start. stairs don't like to be forced to do that, so sometimes one changes, and foot gets caught or misses and...opps....

hm..injuries...i was pushed once, on asphalt playground, skinned knees and hand, ruined pants. was being dragged once, then they let go when yelled and bounced on spine few times....punched....once....doorknob...once....

various cooking ouchies, well..yknow when knife drawer and just grab out...or touch hot thing...not that yknow go to fast and uhoh...no yet anyway....

fell down stone steps twice, skinned knee...various small ouchies....quite a few scars, but mainly small stuff so....im too chicken to break anything, but i had a thing for wheelchairs too, and wanted to break something, just cuz everyone else did. now...now i gots enough pain.

i hope you feel better anchovy, and that we hear from you again soon.

Yes, well, he was being verbally abusive, and I don't play THAT nonsense.

He had gotten promoted to supervisor only a month earlier, and the whole thing went right to his head. He was fast becoming known for being a dick (pardon my language ladies).

Well, anyhoo, I am well known for always being on time...but one day I couldn't help but be ten minutes late...ten friggin' minutes....and he laid into me. I mean he just got nasty, and personal, and for no good reason. Well, I snapped and threw a punch...hard. My fist caught his top teeth and tore open three holes over the last three knuckles. The squabble got broken up before it could deteriorate any further. Needless to say I got fired, and damned lucky I wasn't arrested.

Anyhoo, sorry for going off topic here. On with the show.

And thanks for clearing up that whole "falling up the stairs" thing, Boss. I wasn't making fun, I just never heard of that happening to anyone before. 😛

Noooo....not you too?! Lol. 😛

hmmm i as well fall up stairs alot lol

as for injuries i dont really get hurt much ummm

When i was 7 i got attacked by two rott wielers and spent a week in the hospital before having to get my bicept muscle and my arm sewed up ( 60 something stitches all together)
I've sprained my ankles and wrists alot of times
when i was 9 i slid down 3 flights of stairs and dislocated my knee
got hit in the mouth with a tennis racket and chipped a tooth as well as got a busted lip
Fell off the top of a slide 7 times and each time busted my lip
and had my right ring finger dislocated by my step mom

i think thats all.but not too bad never had a broken bone yet (knock on wood)

I've fallen up the stairs too... 😉 It's easier than it sounds.

Broke my nose on a water slide, must've been 14ish.
Split my chin open while playing on a skateboard on my tummy, I think I was about 7.
Tripped up a kirb and bruised my hip when I was 8ish.
Missed a step in a club one night, fell down about 4 steps and chipped my elbow.
Ran into a wall and chipped my front tooth! LMAO!

Speaking of certain BB pals... if I was to slip down a little ramp on a puddle of drink in a club... would you save me or the drink I was holding? 😉😉😉

I also belong to the club having problems with falling up the stairs, I do it all of the time. I have troubles keeping track of my feet sometimes.

The only damage, except like a million scrubs and cuts and bruises and things like that, was when I was like 3. I wasn't keeping track of my feet and I walked into something and it hurt. I told my mum it hurt and then she just told me to stand up and stop messing about. But we ended up at the doctors and apparently I'd fractured a few bones in my toes.

Oh and that one time I got allergic to some kinda medicine and was sick for like a month. Just sleeping and vomiting.

But then again I'm a hypochondric so I often feel like I'm about to die from a variety of diseases. Living in the same corridor as a med-student isn't really the best thing for me.

It was not just any drink it was JD. Besides if I had went to save you, me being the clumsy person that I was I would have went down with you along with my drink. So thats both of us on the floor covered in drink....instead of one of us and none of us covered in drink 😀

lol to be honest I never actually thought of it, it was instinct, I went for the glass so it would not fall and smash and you would get cut 😛 😉

You didn't think about that... all you thought about was losing drink! :p

My god it's spreading!

I've never broken a bone in my body. But I did have an extremely tough thorn jam it'self right through the top of my nail and half way through my finger.

I also tripped once when running through the house and fell face first onto the wooden part of our sofa, my face swelled up like a football. It's stupid I know but I was only 12 at the time!

You'd think that with all the contact sports I play(ed) that I'd have a long list of bumps and bruises...but not really. The worst that's ever happened is a separated shoulder courtesy a hockey goal post that got in my way...a bunch of stitches to my face from pucks, sticks and skate blades and the occasional gigantic contusion (bruise) from being hit by high velocity pucks, and that's it really. I tore a rotator cuff muscle (shoulder) a couple years ago at work that still gives me grief from time to time. Otherwise, I've escaped remarkably unscathed from the world of sports and work.

I broke a finger juggling coke botttles. See? They really are evil. A friend of mine gave me a fat lip by punching her arm into her jacket sleeve without due care and attention. However, all of that pales in comparison to what I did this week. True, I have no scars to show for it, but my God, the pain.

Science said it couldn't be done, but I've cracked it. History said it didn't exist, but I found it. The absolute upper limit of pain. I've discovered the single most painful sensation that the human body can withstand, without resulting in amputation or death. The best part is, you can and should all test this yourself to see how much it really hurts, because no words could express it adequately.

Here's how!

Step 1. Get a bottle of high proof, low quality vodka, in order to stem the despair of knowing that the best thing on TV is Big Brother and that security guards are paid to protect the safety of all housemates inside, including Kinga.

Step 2. Watch in startled amazement as three housemates working together to gather supplies to last 24 hours, manage to collect only five slices of bread and a fistful of cotton wool.

Step 3. Laugh hard enough to snork half a glass of neat vodka out nose.

Step 4. Roll around on floor in agony like none other. Beg friends to smash in head with a lamp to end suffering. Attempting to claw nose off madly won't do any good really, but you might be lucky and punch yourself unconscious. Stagger into kitchen blindly, and crawl under table, praying for death. Whimpering is optional.

Step 5. Wait 10-15 minutes for pain to subside enough for coherant thought. Then breathe through nose - just once is enough!- for repeat performance of Step 4.

Oh God, the pain.
