Innocence vs Surprise: better ep?

I think Innocence is better: it has Angelus😀 and sad Buffy(don't like her😛)...plus,the lil Spangelus kiss :cheerlead
 
Innocence is better, but the best way is to watch them together.

Gonna watch Joss' commentary for Innocence tomorrow 😀 ::dance::
 
I have to agree that Innocence is the superior episode, although it's because of Surprise, which is the setup and vehicle for Innocence.

While Surprise is the plot unfolding and a lot of exposition about the Judge, etc. Innocence really is a powerful emotional journey that is highly metaphoric and parallels real life experiences making it more relateable. Also, is has some great "female empowerment" moments. Most noteably though, there are some amazing character growth and relationship moments in this episode.

I couldn't agree with you more!!!
Innocence is the better episode. It's the episode that details the theme that Joss was trying to get across with the whole Buffy/Angel sex deal. Joss uses monsters to demonstrate things we really go through, so in effect this episode says that "Once you sleep with a man, don't expect him to be loyal and/or nice afterwards" in the most extreme way possible.

Alot of women deal with this...you meet a guy, think he's great, so you sleep with him and does he call, no...sometimes he even gets nasty as we see when Buffy finally finds Angelus and he tells her about how he could tell how inexperienced she was.
 
i watched innocence again today, i cant decide which i like best. they are both good to me.
 
totally Innocence but suprise comes close with the whole bangel sex scene not that i'm a perv i just loved when he hops up in bed and if only that blanket were there lol
 
I'm going to be the odd one out and say Suprise. I love Innocence, it has great fight scenes and the Willow/Oz/Xander/Cordy storyline is great to watch, not to mention Angelus.

But I'm a sucker for romance and Suprise is more romantic. You've got Angel getting all over protective of Buffy at her suprise birthday party and then at the docks when he jumps in to save her. And this is the first episode were they both declare that they love each other. Next to IWRY this is one of the best bangel episodes ever!!!

Innocence also had a lot more emotional development. The only major thing from suprise (other than the sex, which really wasn't dealt with emotionally until Innocence) was Oz finding out aboutBuffy. While it was fun that he didn't relly react, murder and evil Angelus definitly are better.
 
I love the episode Innocence. One of my favorite of all time. Plus....Spangel-ish kiss...always good...hehe!!! And I love the character of Angelus. Especially in this episode. I can watch that episode ten times and still be amazed at how brilliantly DB plays that character.

Besides...Suprise is much to Bangel-ish for me.
 
yea like billie said, way too much Bangel in Surprise lol (although at the time I like them...eww)...Innocence rocked, our first look at Angelus, and it was cool seeing Spike, Dru, and Angelus together.
 
Even though Surprise is romantic, and I'm a sucker for romance. Innocence is so much better. It was really emotional and plus it has Angelus in it😀
 
I say Innocence was a lot better than Surprise. Bangel. Ugh. And plus in Innocence - Spangel. Yes!! lol.

Innocence is better...even if only for that Spangel moment.....and the whole Angelus thing...and it's less Bangel-ish...yuck, Bangel....ok...i'll just shut up now before ana8 kills me for my Spangel comment...and Magui kills me for my Bangel comment...

While "Surprise" was filled with boat-loads of B/A goodness, I'm voting for "Innocence".

I loved Angelus appearing. And my favorite part of the whole episode was Buffy, breaking down into tears on her bed. It was such a turning point in the Bangel relationship, and although it wasn't something grand, to me, it was one of the best moments.
