Innocent Childhood Misconceptions...

Were they all squishy and taste like chicken?.....lol.....😉

To this day I don't know if my uncle did actually eat the worms or not, I did watch him a few times go to put the worms in his mouth...but you know how kids are....they believe anything....lol....but knowing my uncle I wouldn't put anything past him 😀

LOL - I don't remember the taste exactly but I would have to say yes, otherwise I would be violating a fundamental law of nature (The "Anything new you eat tastes like chicken " law). My late step-father once trumped this law brilliantly when describing his Korean War experience of eating snake. When asked if it tasted like chicken he replied that it did a little but it was more like the local rat🙂

LD's post reminded me that for years I wouldn't eat corned beef because I was told once as a kid that you got typhoid from it...

LOL! I'm LOVING these stories! 😀 Ana8...I used to believe the mirror thing too...and slayerangel...I think the micro waves CAN hurt you...can't they?

I used to believe that when I left home my stuffed animals would have a party...one time I left them toast...when I came home...it was gone! 😱 LOL!

My mom told me that when we die we watch over the people we love...I was afraid to get changed or potty or shower...I didn't want spirits seeing me naked! Now I just don't care...

I always thought my stuffed animals would come alive and have parties! Sometimes I'd try to sneak into my room to catch them.

After seeing Mary Poppins when I was little, I though an umbrella could make you fly, so every windy day I would take my little mickey mouse umbrella outside and jump off the deck. I swear one time it worked...

Also, we used to go to the beach ever saturday, and my sister would always make me a "sand cake", and for some reason, I would attempt to eat it every time.

I don't know. My dad had told me that the waves were very strong so they could heat up stuff faster, so I thought that they could hurt me and maybe they can... That's it. From now on, I will stand a far distance from the microwave. Just in case. I'm paranoid now. Thanks, Rayne. 😉

Ok, when I was in I think first grade, we where learning about dinosaurs, and in the middle of class I raised my hand and asked the teacher "If dinosaurs died off so long before humans walked the earth, How did we ever learn their names?"

lol, I was a slow child....

Also, up intill about 5 or 6 years ago I thought marriage was a good thing... ROFL

When I was about 7yrs old I thought that Tampax were for rubbing the hard skin off the bottom of your feet. Being a nosey little so and so I actually opened a whole box of my mums Tampax one time and couldn't figure out how they could rub hard skin off when they were so soft. Funny thing is my mum never told me off just pretended like I hadn't even done it - then again I never got that 'birds & bees' talk off her either. ::evil1::

To anyone wondering how on earth I came up with this idea, it was because my mum suffered with hard skin on her heels and had one of those pummice stones - it was long, thin & attached to a slim white handle - don't know quite how, but I thought that she used a new one every time she had a bath and that was what was inside the Tampax packets.

I know better now though! 😛

I used to think there were little oompa loompa type people inside the television that made it work. God, I was one retarded child ... 🙄

Uhm, oops.

I was going to say something like, the ElectroMagnetic pulses are contained within the microwave because it works like Faraday's cage. Standing next to it is safe. Whether eating mircowave food is safe or not, I can't tell you, scientist have still not agreed on this.

i used to think that babies came out through your belly button! and also i thought at about age 5 that i could have a baby so i kept poking my belly button to try and get the baby to come out! lol! now i feel really embarassed!

LOL! Wow! That's crazy! What the hell made ya think that they came out your belly button?! Lmao....

Lol...grrarrg...I keep seeing your award in your sig and the look on Xanders face...it always cracks me up...😛

So...I used to think that if you wiped your boogers under the table that they would grow and take on a life of their own...like the Blob! 😱 😛

hahaha. I've never really looked at him, he does look silly.
So did the booger thing stem from some story that your parents told you so that you wouldn't ever wipe boogers under the table? haha. Thats something my mom would do. We used to have a monster... that would eat our toys for a week if we didn't pick them up. haha.

LMAO! That's terrible! And a really great idea...I think I'll use that...😛

Nah, I saw The Blob when I was little and it freaked me out a lot...so I just thought...hey...boogers look like little bloobs...I don't know...I was a very sick child mentally...and I wish I were kidding...🙁

Ha ha!
I've got a good one! When my mother had my brother Daniel, she used to breast-feed him like all mums do at the start.
Well I was about three years old at the time, and I always used to wonder where the milk came from. So every time my dad went down the shops to get some, I used to say to him:
" Are you getting milk for Mummy's boobies?"
lol!
Also I used to think there was an evil ghost called Harriet who lived in the basement...she had ginger hair and wrote on the walls in purple pen!
And I also used to put dolls dresses on my feet and say I was dressing up as one. I was a weird child! Apparently I used to sit really quietly, and then suddenly say something...I would start a thought, then finish it out loud!

Ok, here goes something really embarrasing.

::blush:: I underdressed a Barbie once, to see what was beneath her skirt! ::blush::
