Willow and Oz go to England as friends (8,548 words)
IN THE CHAPEL’S DOORWAY, SORT OF.
They had gone by taxi to a friend’s farmhouse expecting the accommodation that had been promised, after paying for the taxi ride they went to the house but found there was no one there. They knew it meant a long walk back to town but the prospect of finding a hotel room was ever present in their minds. During the early hours of darkness they became a bit despondent as they searched for the road into town. The longer it remained night the colder they became, clouds shielded the moons light from the ground and that made it harder to see where they were going. Oz noticed they had begun to walk beside a low rock wall he saw a covered gateway and immediately thought of church at least a century old. He held Willow’s arm as she pushed open the gate, they both hoped it would lead them to a church or chapel but they couldn’t find it. The path looped around a small graveyard, not wanting to be seen they tried to keep near to the rows of headstones. As they looked around Willow saw the shape of what she told Oz she thought it must be the rectory house. The building seemed as though it wasn’t too far from the graves, the colourful windows occasionally reflected the moon’s light that was itself a reflection from the full moon on a body of water. But it wasn’t enough light to see where the path went to.
The wisps of a mist hazily floated over the ground from a nearby fruit grove toward the headstones and onto the gravel path that led into the building. Seeking respite from the breeze they huddled together by the headstones. As soon as they had begun to feel a modicum of warmth Willow sat bolt upright “What was that?” she exclaimed, “did you hear that?” Oz glanced to her, he tried not to laugh as he asked her if she was being serious. “You do know that we are in a grave yard. I doubt Mr. Lugosi has come to say hello.” Willow laughed quietly at what he said but insisted that he looked about. She told Oz she had heard something creak. Oz was beginning to sit up as he looked around them. He knew that it was at night time that when a tree creaked the sound travelled better than during the day. “They creak during the .. ..” A loud creaking sound interrupted him. “Okay, now that wasn’t a wooden sound, that was metal sound,” stated Oz. Willow was puzzled and a little scared she looked at the yard of the building.
“What could do that?” Oz was surprised by her remark. “We are in a graveyard you know, what do you think it was?” Willow was about to say it could be the metal railings but remembered they were surrounded by stone walls. Oz grinned, he asked her if she had thought about the metal hinges on a coffin. He wanted to know if she thought that maybe it was that Bela had come to say hello? They heard a voice laughing beyond where they were. “Mwa ha ha ha.”
When it had gone quiet again Willow whispered to Oz that maybe he had come back to say hello. But Oz was not impressed, he said that only someone who had live in the nineteen sixties would actually say that. Willow laughed at him, maybe her laughter was a bit too loud. “You do know he died in nineteen fifty six don’t you, maybe he has come back to say hello.” Oz couldn’t decide if Willow was making a joke or was being serious, they sat there silently and listened to the silence, they each hoped that they wouldn’t hear any further sounds.
“Think about it Will, if there was something after us it wouldn’t want us to hear it, would it? And let’s face it, it can’t be a ghost, none that I know of would need to open a coffin to get out have just come out of the ground,” said Oz.
Willow asked Oz if it could have been a large dog or a werewolf? “Maybe the baby is all grown up and thinks of you as his son?” They both watched as a shadow moved between the headstones, without letting themselves be seen Oz whispered to Willow that he would prefer not to think it was a large dog. “It has been said that man’s best friend are his dogs,” he said. “Not when his girlfriend or his wife could hear,” replied Willow. She heard Oz quietly laugh, “But werewolves are the pets of the devil, he wouldn’t let them come to a church graveyard?” Willow thought that what he said was true.
“So how about a Zombie.” “Now that is a possibility but I doubt Voodoo has anything to do with what we heard. There is a belief in Voodoo that a person has two souls, the first soul will take a person into heaven but it is the second soul we need to worry about. It is the second soul which can return and if it does return it can reanimate the dead body. If the body does get reanimated it means the body would not be brought to a cemetery for burial, would it?”
“Bela Lugosi it is then,” said Willow happily, then she thought about what she had said. Unknown to them and unseen by them, away from them in a far corner of the graveyard a figure slowly rose from ground level. Oz still wasn’t sure about what they had heard. “It might be, it might not be, there are a few trains of thought about that scenario.” In the light that was reflected from the lake Willow could see that Oz looked to her as she asked what those were? Oz looked to the church. He wanted Willow to consider how a vampire could be there, how could a creature of the damned walk on hallowed ground? Willow admitted she hadn’t considered that concept, Oz grinned to her. “Mind you if they don’t want to walk on hallowed ground they could jump from one headstone to the top of the headstones, they don’t consecrate them. Willow closed her eyes, “Thank you just when I thought it was safe in here, what other ideas are there?” Oz was quiet for a while. “For that you would need to consider who created the vampires? Where and when did they originate.” Willow suggested it was the devil but Oz disagreed. “Well the vampires were not created by God,” stated Willow. “It might have been, if he had, and one or more had been taken, and those ones made evil.” “By the Devil,” said Willow. “Well according to the books I have read the Devil had a son, and it was that son who took Gods vampires and he made them evil. Consider this, what if the vampires were about before God. That would give a reason for God to battle against the evils on earth.” The clouds moved and the light from the full moon nestled on the ground, they could see the path went to a house. When they got to the door it was locked but at least they would get some protection from the breeze in the recess near the doorway. As they huddled together Willow asked Oz what it could have been in the grave yard? In the time it took Oz to think of an answer they had both fallen asleep.
When they woke up it was morning, though the sunlight wasn’t on them they were happy, they could see its warmth. What they didn’t find so nice was that they were the centre of attraction for ten people. Not knowing what else to do. “I apologise for my friend Willow and myself Oz for taking refuge in the doorway of this your chapel,” said Oz. Oz and Willow faced each other as the people laughed at them. The girl who was nearest them, Bethany, told them that it wasn’t a chapel as they referred to it as, it was their house. Bethany looked to the graves, Bethany told Oz and Willow that the graves and headstones were of and for their friends who had once lived in the house. Bethany informed then that she was the leader of the group so they should speak to her, or if they would prefer it they could speak with David. Willow looked at the group and asked which one of them David was. David presented himself to her. “The others here are Alice who is my mate, Anders who is Bethany’s mate. Myra who is with Gavin, these two are Emma and Graham. And those two are Janis and Steve. Don’t you just love the way they are jumping about. They want me to lay concrete slabs for the path, funny aren’t they?” Alice walked forward to greet them and introduced herself. She told them that they would often go out as a group at night. As they had been out that night and they would be out the next night so they would need to get some sleep. Oz said that they would be going, that they wouldn’t make any noise. David asked them not to leave, to catch up their lack of sleep and go out with them the coming night. Alice said that the sun wouldn’t be going down for another eleven hours so they would share the time to get some sleep. Oz and Willow were grateful to her. Alice led them away from that house to another far grander house, Alice asked if either of them knew how to ride a motorcycle hearing they did she was glad, she told them they could go and get some food. Alice told Oz there was a motorcycle in the garage he could use, she told him it would be an old B.S.A., David’s choice.
At the café nothing was said about who Alice or any of her friends were, it wasn’t until later. Back at the house they sat on the outdoor setting on the lawn. Willow said it had been a while since she or Oz had been treated as friends by anyone, they had been travelling for a couple of days. Alice knew what she meant as each of them had left where they lived to be there. She said David was the odd one out as he was always on the move it has only been in the last six months he had decided to stay here. Alice said she would introduce them to each of the couples that evening. Willow asked what it was that the group did? Alice told her that like many other things about them that should remain secret until they had become friends. Oz was suspicious because she wouldn’t tell them. Alice told him that if she did and they got scared they might try to run away and there was no need to for him or Willow to do that. Alice said that David’s home was where what is known as Lake Eyre sometimes is. He said it was an inland lake that only filled when there had been a massive flood in Queensland, when the flood water covered an area the size of Wales in the UK or Germany, the flow of water would go to the lowest point of Australia, to Lake Eyre.

Myra and Gavin introduced themselves, Myra said they were both from Aberdeen in Scotland. They were from a village near the stone circle known as Tyrebagger. She said they had both been contenders for the Scottish Olympic team as gymnasts and they were both very fit. They had been an item long before they lived at the house. Myra said she had always preferred herself to have short blonde hair when she was a gymnast. “That isn’t surprising as spinning about with long hair, it would have kept getting in her way,” said Willow. Myra was always an attractive girl she once had a slim athletic well cared for figure. But as she grew in age she had begun to develop too much, she had tried various exercises to keep her muscles firm. When she had done those exercises her arms and shoulders became a bit too bulky. As a requirements of her sport was that she retained a feminine figure of a young girl. So some of the elements became too hard for her to do and eventually Myra had to make a big decision about her future, she had to leave gymnastics rather than be told to leave. Gavin had always there for her, as he said and still says now that as long as she stays the same lovely person he would still love her. Gavin was lean and muscular he liked to wear tight clothes that showed off his physique. His favourite item had been the rings, holding Myra at arm’s length above him was just one of those things he enjoyed doing, once they had left gymnastics and his mind-set had changed he still liked to hold her above him.
David had them meet Emma and Graham, he said they came from Cookstown in Northern Ireland from near Beaghmore. They both worked in a clothing mill, they were based in a department of the factory where the different weaves were made for kilts. The type of personality they had is the same as what it is now, part of that was due to Velvet she caused them to keep their distance. Emma was by her own belief was a bit overweight, although she was the only one who thought that. Graham was a bit thin according to Emma. David said he had never been able to say why but they didn’t look right together but they could talk together about anything. David said he had often enjoyed conversations with them where they often put the world to rights. One thing David said he liked above all else was the lovely colour of their skin. Both their parents were second generation Australians it was their parents who were Chinese.
Alice introduced Janis and Steve, she said they had been in the pack the longest. Janis and Steve were from the third generation of families that moved to Penrith in Cumbria, England. Near the stone circle Long Meg and her Daughters. They were the deep thinkers of the group, if you ever have a non-physical problem they are the ones to see for help.
Anders and Bethany were such a cute couple, even back in the late nineteen sixties when they joined another group they were known as a cute pair. They have only been in this pack for a couple of years and they are thought of as being a cute couple here. The pack they were in before attracted too much of the wrong attention and had to be cut. Originally they were from a small country town of Tavistock which wasn’t too far from the twin stone circle known as Grey Wethers.
Alice told them she was from a farm in Long Compton, she didn’t want to be liked the other women in her family, they had all been witches. The village was near the Rollright Stone Circle, though some knew it as the Kings circle. Alice said they all had one thing in common at some point in their lives they had all learnt how to ride motorcycles.
It was in the early afternoon when David woke up he wandered to where they were sat, he asked Alice if they had started to become friends, Alice said they had. David apologized to them he knew that Alice would not have said much about him or anyone else. Willow said they knew about each of the others Oz added they had been told where each of them had lived but not how they had come to live where they were. As I thought said David, nothing of any real consequence. David said that time was not on their side that they needed to know the few secrets about the group before the evening or it might be a nasty surprise. Oz told him Alice had taken them to a café to get some breakfast but she had a larger meal. So your secrets cannot be that bad. David shook his head, he insisted the secrets could be that bad, but that depended on what you believed. David told Willow and Oz that they were not in any danger from then, and never would be. Oz was still very curious he said he had listened to a few things that might help you tell us whatever it is you say you need to tell us. We were told that you went out last night and that you are going out tonight, does that mean you are thieves, robbers you steal from people? No, replied David.
Oz continued by stating that they could outside in the sunlight and eat food, he thought that because of that they were not vampires, Willow and Oz had been about to laugh but he saw anger in David’s reaction. Oz wanted to know why he hadn’t started to laugh. David said that to tell them the truth now would mean he had just trapped himself. David said that the situation he was in had never happened before, once again he stated that neither he nor Willow were in any danger from the group nor from Alice or him. Oz said they had picked up on something being wrong when Alice skimmed over the death of Velvet, Willow said she wanted to know about Velvet and where she came from and what he could tell us about her? David started off by saying that she was from LA, she had been found riding a scooter. Velvet used to be the leader of the group but that she had been discovered as being out to get what she could for herself and that meant she had drawn attention at the group. Last night she took it to another level and killed a person. Luckily another person had killed her but he had to go to that person and let her know none of the rest of the group would seek revenge, as it was the person accepted my word. Willow didn’t understand why that was so important, she said that the killing was bad but getting the person to accept your word that no revenge would be sought inferred something else, Oz was suspicious as well. David asked them to hear all of what he had to say before they made a decision. Oz and Willow agreed.
David said he hated vampires but he did like killing them, that they were the only things they had killed the previous night, the group had killed four of them. Willow asked if they were in any danger of seeing any of them there. David laughed, he said the vampires were scared of them. Oz wanted to know what they weren’t being told.
David told them that a war had been happening for several millennia that he knew of, since he had been alive. Many others were in the war, David looked to Oz he said he knew Oz was a werewolf though he was not a werewolf like he was. Willow and Oz stared at David. “Not like you?” asked Oz. David looked to him he said that Oz had been made a werewolf by a person who had that gene, that Oz’s type of werewolf had been started when the son of the devil tried to control werewolves but ultimately failed. Those in the group were proper werewolves except for Alice and him who were something more. David continued by saying the group would be going out soon as plans had been put in place to get up to six vampires and several humans up to no good. He saw that Willow had the power to stop any harm affecting her yet he still offered them some protection.
The group wandered into the forest that surrounded their homes. The first place they stopped was at a clearing where a fire had been prepared so all they had to do was light the wood. They stayed there until the moon was high in the sky. When the moon was sufficiently high enough they ran to the edge of the forest, to a clearing where they could look over most of the town. David pointed to the second line of houses he said that a vampire was known to live in one of them it would be him the group was going to get. He had Alice stay with Willow and Oz, in case other vampires were in the area. He let Bethany lead the group from there. She led everyone to a parcel of land where Willow, Oz and Alice were to watch. Willow asked why they were so close to where the vampire lived, that it might be a risk them being so close. Bethany replied that if there was any danger to her or Oz they would all be there to protect her within a second or two, whereas in the clearing it would be a waste of time running to help her. They would get there only to stop them turning into a vampires.
Bethany pointed to one of the gardens in the second row of houses, to the manwho was watering the plants. Bethany told Oz and Willow that he was the vampire. The man looked up to the sky went to turn the water off then went inside the house. “Why did he do that?” asked Oz. Bethany explained to him that there was a full moon. Oz was surprised he asked if they could control themselves to not turn when the moon was full? David told him that was a fallacy; he looked up at the moon. “Just because it is up there it does not mean we have to turn, it only means we can. If you think of it Oz you will begin to know the reason that it isn’t the moon which causes the change nor is it the sun’s light on it which causes the change. And when you realise the moon is always there you’ll know you can change at any night you want to. David looked to Oz, all those years you spent trying to control changing, when you were already controlling the change for the rest of the month without knowing it,” stated David he graciously allowed Bethany to lead them again.
Willow watched as the vampire entered the house, four of them quickly ran to the back of the garden in case he tried to escape that way, the others entered his house through the front door.

“Where are you it is dinner time?” called Alice as she stepped into the hall. She didn’t like not being able to see where it had gone but the excitement of the chase had become evident in her voice. She looked in the front room but couldn’t see him there either. This is turning into a guessing game she thought of the fun that they could all have. Going from room to room kept her happily entertained though soon she was becoming disillusioned a bit. She wandered into the kitchen but not finding him there she began to get bored
“Where have you gone?” She noticed that the others were stood in the hall between her and the front door by a closed door under the stairs. “Is that the door to a basement?” She asked, as she looked to a closed door, she began to smile, “or is it a dungeon?” Steve kicked the door open for her. Alice peered into the darkness she hoped he was down there although she couldn’t see him in the darkness she knew that as soon as she changed into a werewolf she would be able to see where he had gone. The others went to where the werewolf was then they saw where the vampire was. Gavin and Myra were given the responsibility of removing another vampire from the neighbourhood. As they left the house Bethany with Willow and Oz went to be at the side of the road. “Where now?” asked Willow. David turned to Janis and asked her to lead the way. David walked beside them behind Janis he told them that Steve and Janis had been in charge of finding a group of people who met on every full moon. Willow looked to him she asked him if he meant witches, Janis heard what they had been saying and smiled. “They are not normal witches these are devil worshippers.” Willow looked to her, surprised by her attitude. “It sounded as if you were happy they were not witches, why?” asked Willow. Janis said they were not out there to find witches they’d had experience with witches before, witches know how to disappear into the darkness. Steve slowed and signaled for each of them to stop he indicated the small glow ahead of them. He pointed to an outbreak of rock, he quietly spoke to them he said they could watch them from there. When they were all sat on the rock Oz asked why they were there. David said they were a bunch of Devil Worshippers that he had been told, by who he had to obey, that they were to force them to leave the area, to stop them doing whatever it was they were about to do. Janis said she and Steve would have some fun with them first. Willow waited until only David was left with her and Oz before she asked him what he meant when he said who he had to obey. David told he would tell her later, about what she didn’t know about the battle with the vampires. Willow stated she already knew most of what was what and who was who.
“One of our friends is the vampire slayer.” David looked to, he was impressed. “But what do you know about werewolves? Who created the type Oz is and who created the type they were and what creates new werewolves like those in the group. Willow stared at him not willing to admit it but she knew she didn’t know the answers.
David waved them to another rock, closer to the devil worshippers. When they were at the rock David signaled to Janis. After a few more minutes they moved into the open near to the Steve and Janis approached a couple of the devil worshippers Steve asked them if they minded them watching. The Devil worshipper looked to Steve, he sneered. “We don’t let people watch us but you can join in if you want.” Janis laughed at the thought of that. “Why would he want to do that?” The devil worshipper asked Janis if they scared her. “What, you, of course you don’t, why would I be scared of you,” asked Janis. The devil worshipper reiterated that if they wanted to stay where they were they would have to join in. Janis was amazed she couldn’t begin to understand why they would want to worship him. Janis tried to explain that Steve didn’t care for who they thought they were worshipping, she said that Steve hated who they were worshipping that he would if he was given the chance, kill him.
“He really does hate his father.” The devil worshipper thought it incredulous to even think like that he started to treat them as though they were making a joke at his expense. He laughed as he asked Janis why he should believe her.
“Ooh don’t, oh I wish you hadn’t said that. Now you will need one of the children or an entity to protect you because he will never hurt either of us.” The devil worshipper asked him why not. Steve grinned as he told the devil worshipper that in the animal kingdom man’s best friend was said to be the dog. So take that to the extreme and if they did they would discover that the Devils best friend was the werewolf. Steve and Janis instantly became werewolves, together with the charged at the devil worshipper who ran into the bushes only to be confronted by rampant werewolves, in a panic they ran in various directions. David smiled to Willow. “It is going to be a while before they are here again.” He ushered them to where the worshipper had left their cars. David picked out three cars. The werewolf enjoyed themselves as they wrecked the other cars.
About to get in a car Bethany asked David if it was a good night to get the witches. Willow glared at David. He smiled to Bethany. “Okay then but you will have to give her a lift.” Willow was ushered into the same car as Bethany while Oz was escorted into another car with David. Three cars drove to an isolated twenty four hour unmanned petrol station that was near a tavern, they parked the cars out of sight. David had everyone except him and Oz go to the end they expected the people to leave by. They waited and watched five cars enter and leave the petrol station. “The people we want will soon be here, we need to get rid of these people fast.” Oz looked to David. “How do you know that?” David asked Oz if he could crouch down a bit lower so that he couldn’t be seen, Oz did as asked. He saw David become a werewolf and heard him growl, a long low pitched growl. The man who had been putting petrol in his car suddenly stopped, he began to look about and hung up the petrol pipe at the bowser, he had just fitted the top to the petrol tank when some of the bushes behind the car began to rustle. The man got in the car and sat there, David lurched forward from the bushes and the car sped away. Another car entered the forecourt of the petrol station. Oz asked if this was who they wanted. “We don’t want them, they are witches who are about to leave their coven, they are having doubts. I have been told to make ourselves known to them, to help them seek help from others in their coven,” said David. Oz was puzzled he wanted to know how David knew that and why was he going to do that. David looked up into the night sky, he told Oz to watch for stars that seemed to get blurry. “There are entities up there guiding us, getting ready for the final battles we are doing what we can to help.” He had Oz creep to their car with him; they left the station and followed the road to a wide bridge under a dual carriageway. Each of them seemed to know where to go under the bridge. As the car entered under the canopy they changed to and stood upright as werewolves.
They drove to a big car park near the beach, after a short walk they were on the sand. Willow and Alice walked ahead as Oz walked with David. The rest of the group went into the park David wanted to look at the moons reflection on the water. Oz wanted to know how he could was able to wander about as a person under the moon without changing. David looked to the moon he said that just because it was there it didn’t mean they had to change it just meant they could. “You do know it isn’t the moon that makes you change don’t you? It is the power of the sun on the moon that gives werewolves the power to change when they want to. I thought you might ask that, there are several reasons but as I said to you before, we are different. Your kind was captured by the Son of the Devil, for new werewolves to be they need to be bitten which means that every new generation has less and less evil power. Then there is the kind we are, we are of the Devil. He had one create and control each one of his, they could never give life to a new werewolf. One day maybe Alice can help choose them. To understand fully you need to know what was, so basically God created the Animals, the birds and the primates on the land, they started to fight amongst themselves so God created a small army to control them; the Angels. One of those Angels took that control to far so God got rid of him. That Angel became the Devil and he had to watch over the dead. But the animals and birds, the primates with mankind kept reproducing their dead became too much for the Devil so he created a Son. The Son rebelled and became the Evil, the Son and the Devil fought each other and the Devil won but the Son escaped and even now plans his revenge against his father the Devil, he also blames God. I am one of the Devils creations. Those who said they are Devil Worshippers are really the Sons Worshippers they just don’t know it. The Sons forces are vampires and the many things they have created, Werewolves are of the Devils favourite animal, your kind was originally of the Son but you are not anymore, the Devil created the Incubus to watch over all his werewolves.
Because they had been talking they hadn’t noticed the Alice and Willow were now behind them, David looked at his watch. “I think there is just about enough time for us to have a bit of fun before we need to go.” David pointed along the beach to where he saw a small group of teenagers taking their clothes off, he could tell they were getting ready to go skinny dipping. He waved Alice and Willow to join them he suggested they do as he wanted and enjoy themselves for a few minutes. He planned that he should go with Alice at his side that they go to the people and asked if they could join them. A few of the people waved them to join in but as soon as they had David and Alice morphed to be werewolves. The small group quickly got as far from the beach as they could. David and Alice changed back and put their clothes on. David told Willow and Oz help them neatly fold the peoples clothes and put them in piles. As Willow was doing what he had suggested she asked why they were doing that. David said it would confuse the heck out of the people, when they thought it safe to get out of the water, finding their clothes would keep them guessing for days.

David looked at his watch and said that it was the time they went to the park. As they approached one of the entrances the others could be seen, when they met up David said he would wander to the nightclub with Willow while the others vented their exuberance and prepared themselves for what would happen later. As he walked with Willow around the car park David said the other would run around the cars shouting and screaming and generally causing confusion. That they would meet up outside the nightclub the other end of the car park. While they were in the nightclub they would locate the vampires that were known to congregate there, David said that sometimes there was two or three vampires known to be there, a couple of times seven had been there. He told Willow that they would know how many were there as soon as they went in, and it wouldn’t take long to find where each one was. It was their intention to herd the vampires into the same area then scare the crap out of the humans so they would leave. He said she would be protected at all times.
In the nightclub they casually moved about the dance floor joining the various groups that were dancing, several people sat about drinking. Willow was sat with David, Alice and Myra were sat at a table between two of the exits but not next to either one of them. “We have picked a good night to be here, there are two groups of vampires who will be against each other soon, when the guys have stirred them up a bit. Janis and Steven went and stood near the dance floor while David went to the bar for some drinks for the three girls at the table. Several times Janis had gone onto the dance floor and moved some girls near to one of the exits as they were worse for drink and liable to get in the way and would probably end up dead. When she had done that David went to be stood near the bar Oz went outside with **5
Gavin, Graham, Steve, Anders with Bethany Emma and Janis. Willow noticed them leave, she was about to tell Alice when she felt Alice’s hand grip her arm, Alice looked into Willows eyes. “Brace!” David was suddenly in front of the table and he was becoming a werewolf as was Alice and Myra. Willow thought she had known fear before but being that she was suddenly being protected by three werewolves brought it home to her. Across the dance floor the door to the nightclub smashed against the wall as eight werewolves growled angrily in the doorway. Willow saw ten vampires stand their ground as thirty humans tried desperately hard to leave at the same time. Willow looked to the exits as the humans all escaped, the vampires were being herded against the far wall only know there was only six of them, three seconds later and the vampires had been disposed of.
When they were back in the forest, at the clearing David had them stop and light the fire they had built there earlier, they stayed there until the sun had entered the sky. Willow felt the warmth on her skin as she realised where she was, Oz was sat near her. She knew he was as bemused as she was about how they had got there. She looked to David and asked him if the person who was a werewolf could make the forget things. David said that no werewolf could do that but he and Alice could, primarily though it was him. Alice had started to be that way when she agreed to become his mate. David sat down and made himself comfortable. “I don’t bother to say about myself too often because my history goes back a long time. But you should know so that you can tell your friend the vampire slayer as she won’t know what is happening, she is taught by the Watcher who is a human,” he asked that Willow forgive him for that as humans were a bit thick in that regard, “they have this belief that they are always right, that if they think something is true then it is, and usually they are so wrong it is silly.”
“The vampire slayer is not alone, there is an end to what she does and there are so many others to battle towards the same end. Unfortunately those in charge of the Watchers Council have allowed themselves to be subverted by the evil which is why the vampire slayer is not contacted by others in the battle,” said Alice. David stared at Willow, “This is just rumour at present but it might be that a witch is about to become a major player. About me though I was born to an entity of both sexes I was born to fulfill a need by the one who was said to be the evil. He took werewolves to be his pets he wanted an entity to look after them and control them, so that became me, I was and I still am the one who watches over all werewolves. Basically a lake formed here some moisture crept through the soil and that allowed the moisture to drain through the countless grains of soil, through countless miles of soil and rock until the moisture accumulated and a great cavern was formed. In that cavern a sea
slowly began to form. As no droplets of moisture fell onto its surface the glassy effect remained smooth and undisturbed. The single cell organisms that had once lived in the rocks began over the decades of millennia to be in the water. Then after more millennia they became multi-celled organisms. Centuries of millennia passed and the multi celled organisms had grown with other multi-celled organisms; and a body started to form. From the body there grew though only the lower part protected itself from the water. That the top half of it was kept on the land and a smooth skin began to be.
Having been there for eons it grew bored by its environment and started to tear at the soils, the ground and the rocks above it. The time it was in the cavern had not been measured or recorded, as it moved closer up to the lake above it the time there ignored it. The moisture above it began to seep through the ground into the shaft it made then a trickle began to go through the ground. In the time the being that was in the cavern broke through to the lake above the ground, the water combined until it looked as though nothing had changed except that know there was me. Born to create control and care for werewolves as Alice is my mate she can direct me to who is suitable to be a werewolf but only I can implant the demon seed that creates a werewolf. As Alice is my mate we can appear as we are to you, we can appear as a werewolf and she can appear as the Succubus I am the Incubus. I spoke earlier of the others here, of what they were before and where they lived. What you may not have known was that near where they lived is a stone circle. It is because of the stone circle that I can travel the great distance needed to search and find new werewolves.
Oz asked him how that was done, Alice grinned, she was happy that he had asked that. “David, does that mean we can ride the motorbikes again?” He started to nod then stood up he told them to follow him, as he passed each one of the group he told them to follow him and he led them to the triple garage at the back of the big house. He opened the garage doors and Alice pushed her motorcycle into the open. She faced David and started to plead with him, he smiled to her; her enthusiasm was addictive. She faced Oz and told him to watch. Willow wanted to know what to watch for. David moved Willow to be stood where he had been stood. “The motorcycle itself becomes an extension of our inner being, as werewolves the front and rear suspension the chassis the headlight cowling and the engine becomes like a werewolf the tank and seat blend into the appearance. None of us becomes a werewolf which is just as well ever thought how a werewolf would ride a motorcycle? Alice fired up the motorcycle and it began to transform. She called to Oz to get on. David looked to Willow.
“You are with me.” Willow got onto the bike before David had begun to fire the motorcycle into life, and she felt the amazement go through her, she could feel its beating heart. Willow looked to her left at Bethany, she leant forward and asked David why all the bikes were BSA’s he turned towards her. “I don’t know, maybe it was because the first one I tried was a BSA 650 back in nineteen sixty one. There was something about it then when it took the werewolf persona I saw no reason to change.” The ten of them gently rumbled through the forest then onto the road where they thundered passed other road users yet once they had gone passed no one could remember having seen them. They approached a corner at what seemed a deathly speed a portion of the fence was missing and a path became weaved through the trees into recently ploughed field, by which time that had slowed down. A hedge appeared to bow to them as they slowed to a stop in the paddock of grass. David made the bike halt and told Willow to get off. And she watched as it returned to look as any other BSA 650, David led Willow across the paddock to a stone circle, he picked a small piece of rock from the altar and took her some hundred paces back towards the motorcycles. Willow looked to the motorcycles and the stone circle she wondered if there was a reason why they were halfway between them. “There is nothing here, why have you brought me here?” asked Willow. “I thought you might like to see a stone circle being built,” said David.
Alice looked to the others, they all smiled. David told them to look at the field itself. “Do you see that it is a slightly sloping field? I have found that a field like this one is best because of the slope when you know how to build one. I have taken this piece of stone from that circle it will be the piece of rock that signifies where I shall go. Willow walked to where the circle was going to be built, she faced David. “So how do you start to make a circle and when you are making it how do you work out the points of a compass, all the alignments with the stars and the sun?” asked Willow. David looked to Oz he indicated Willow and told him that someone had been listening to those self-proclaimed experts, those people who had been studying for almost twenty years, you know how they become experts don’t you? “Tell them you are an expert.” David pointed to a pile of rocks nearby and asked each of the group to grab a rock and make a circle with them. As long as we make the circle round that is all we need do, we are going to be using the circle for transport not for it to be an observatory. The primary use of a stone circle was that it could be used as a method of travels it was those who couldn’t use it effectively that tried to find an alternative reason for it being. “Like those archaeologists who claim it was a hospital?” asked Oz. “There are two circles that you shouldn’t use, one is the one known as Stonehenge that was made by being from another world and the one near Penzance in Cornwall that is known as a bad place. So whatever you don’t go to either of them? The width isn’t important you could make it three times wider than a witches circle.

It won’t make any difference to it but it another fifty years someone who wants to make a name for themselves will declare it is for this reason or that. There are two points you need to do, when you are correcting the circle you will need to place two rocks at opposite sides of the circle. The next point will be the operating place. Take a line straight from the centre of the circle over one of the stones in the circle to twenty paces from the circle,” stated David
Willow thanked him for saying how to make the circle, she asked him how to make the stone circle operate. “The memory part,” said David as he looked to Alice. “Children used to sing this in playgrounds when they were left to play? Ring O Ring O Rosey,” Alice smiled, “Poor Rose, I know I used to say the rhyme but I never knew it had meaning. Rose was the name of a person who died in the circle, she was stood when David came through on a horse, her name was altered to assist the rhyme. The rhyme continued with the line. A pocket full of posey. “That told of the time when I could take flowers or crops from one circle to another circle around the country. “It was you took them, sorry I didn’t realise the rhyme was what you did David?” asked Willow
“Yes.” “So atishoo atishoo we all fall down, what does that refer to? The rest seems to mean something,” said Willow. “You will need to say those words, yet enhance each letter to make them sound like this, AR tiS hEU, ARRtE izi suhEoo.” Oz faced Willow “The last line, how would that fit,” he asked. David took them to where the slope was at its greatest, he had them close their eyes, he told them to imagine you’ve just left a stone circle where the slope means you have been leaning towards the slope then you get to the next circle that the slope is the opposite way. He spins them both and they fall over, do you understand?” he asked
“Clever,” said Oz. “And that is?” asked Willow, “There must be something else or all kinds of people would use them.” “Those who can use the stone circle need to have demon in them.
“Demon! Only a demon can use them why?” asked Willow. “For safeties sake, as ordered by the devil, imagine what would happen if everyone used the circles as transport Rose would not be the only one.” David goes to get his motorbike sat on it. He rode it to where the circle was to be activated. He held the piece of rock and uttered the words giving the phonetic values of the letters, AR ti Sh U, ARR T izi suh Eoo.” He vanished from the circle and appeared by the other circle then rode his motorbike back to them.
As soon as Willow and Oz got back to LA International airport one of Oz’s friends who was at the airport waiting for them gave them a lift home. After unpacking they got a taxi to where Giles was living. As expected Buffy was there, upon seeing her friend Buffy flung her arms about her.
“So tell me what was it like in the land of Giles I want to know everything?” asked Buffy.
“And you will, everything,” Willow faced her, “it was out of this world, totally.”
Oz looked at the bookshelf. “You are going to love what we have to tell you,” stated Oz he began to grin, “Giles might like it as well.”
