So Myself an American, Beckyx in England and Social Suicide in Germany are going to do a food swap. Meaning we are going to ship things native to our countries to the others. This thread is to help us all come up with ideas of what to ship in eachothers care packages. Of Course everything has to be non parishable and seeing as that shipping is a pretty penny for us all we have agreed on a total wieght limit for the packages, so it cant be anything heavy. I know for a fact that I will be shipping some packets of Kool-Aid as they dont have anything like that in England or in Germany and I view that to be something everyone in America has had at least once! Can everyone else please contribute ideas of what to send. ESPECIALLY foods that you can think of, that were mentioned on Buffy or Angel? LOL I mentioned a few foods yesterday to them and they were like "oh yea that was mentioned on Buffy I will have to try that on that fact alone" hehehehe. Well yea so input would be gladly appreciated. THANKS from us all! (Beckyx, Social Suicide and Vicariously)

Being a southerner, the first non perishable thing that comes to my mind is pinto beans, the staple of life when I was growing up.

OH I bags Vegemite!! It wasnt on BTVS but Social Suicide and I were talking about it the other day...

So far I've come up with: Ribena, English Tea, Jaffa Cakes, Weetabix (Which isn't very nice), Wine Gums, Welsh Cakes, Custard Creams (I'm not sure if you have them over there?) and Shortbread (Real scottish shortbread).

I might have forgotten some things and I'm probably not going to be able to send all that but it's a start! And yes.. what is "Vegemite"?!

So far I could think of several types of chocolate (Milka, Ritter Sport and Kinder Schokolade), Leibniz Kekse, Schokolinsen, maybe something from Haribo, Maoam, Esspapier and Ferrero Küsschen and Duplo

Some time soon I'm gonna go to a big supermarket to check out all the typical German food we have. Unfortunately the real German stuff, like liverwurst etc. can't be send to another country

Uh......can I get some lebkuchen? Please? Pretty please?
Vegemite is an essential part of the aussie diet!! I am trying to find the 1950's happy little vegemite song but not with very much success! Maybe some of the other aussies on the boards lay be able to help with a link. It'll explain everything 🙂 Vegemite fixes all!!
Is Milo international? Lamingtons, pavlova?
I should find that possum magic book, that has all the essential aussie foods in it!!

Becky you should send Vic over some cadbury's Chocolate! I spent the summer in America and MY GOD are ye lacking in decent chocate!! I would also say fish and chips but well that ain't gona happen, also if you were using a cooler send some nice bread and butter! To my horror I found that American butter was bubbly like an aero!🙁

We've got Cadbury's chocolate in Georgia. Maybe you just went to a depressed part of the country (New York, California, or somewhere like that. And I haven't seen any bubbles in our butter since Uncle Grady fell into the churn.

we have cadburry here in Virgina too :)
Somebody definitely has to send "Angel's Delight" from the UK to the US! My husbands family has some friends from Essex, and they once brought some of that over when they visited. I loved it...it's like pudding, but better! 🙂 Now they send some to me all the time!

"Stonkin Strawberry" is the best flavor!

sounds yummy!
I seem to have offended all the Americans! My apologies! I was in Orlando and while cadbury's was available it was insanely priced and tasted funny, definetly wasn't the real deal and I will never back peddle on the butter, it started bubbling in my mouth! Thats wrong on many many levels!

I can't speak for anyone else, but where I come fro, it takes a whole lot more than Cadbury's chocolate to raise my dander. (And as for the "bubbles" in our butter, you probably ran across some whipped margarine, one of those vain attempts to save us from those nasty ol' calories real butter has)

Nope it was butter, I tried three different kinds untill I gave up. Butter should be smooth an creamy not bubbily.Oh and I have a question. Whats up with the bread? I bought a sliced pan and it stayed fresh for THREE whole weeks!!! Thats not right!

Can you tell I missed Irish food?

We've also got bread that goes stale overnight. You just didn't find it. The stuff you had probably had enough chemicals in it to stock a good sized lab.

I was gonna karmify you with this one, but shame on me, you're the last person I karmified. I'm not offended. And I don't eat white chocolate (it's icky), so I can't speak for that, but I've never had a problem with bubbly butter.

How very dare you - weetabix done right is awesome!!

I love Angel Delight - I prefer Butterscotch.

I would send Cadbury's Turkish Delight - it is delicious.

You should also get things like Wham Bars and DoubleDips.

Ohh and for you Americans, you should send Twinkies - They don't sell them over here on a large scale(though Twinkies are horrid).

Even with milk and sugar weetabix is still only mediocre. But thats only me! Wham bars are a good idea.
