Interracial Relationships

I was watching MTV the other night and True Live was on. It's a documentary for teenagers about things going on in the world that would affect them somehow. The one from this week was interracial relationships. It followed three couples. The first was a black girl and a white guy who were dating, but got engaged. The second was a white girl who was pregnant with a hispanic guys baby, and they got married later. The third couple was a white guy and a black guy who were trying to find an apartment together. Through out the whole documentary people were making comments like, "you should stay in your own race," and ignorant stuff like that.

Does anyone here care about race when it comes to dating? Like, will you not date someone cuz they're black or something?

Me, I don't care. I don't see a black person or a chinese person, I just see....a person. Race, age, gender, bla bla bla doesn't matter to me. I dated Daria (who's black) and she who must not be named (who's hispanic). To me it all boils down to do what makes you happy and feel loved.

i agree.

People are people. *shrugs* I have prefs, but...only thing that'd stop me from dating someone would be the person, or distance.

it's on a whole munch of times during the week. check your local listings lol.

Yea...I saw that episode of True Life...some people are just so ignorant. I have no problem with interracial relationships.

I think its your own personal preference and that people should like people for who they are not what color they are. The only thing I have to say on this issue is that usually you date someone you're physically attracted to as well as the other attractions that keep relationships going. Sometimes we tend to date within our own race for the simple fact that its what we are used to and what we've come to know as "attractive" within the culture we were brought up in.

I've had both interracial relationships as well as relationships with those with similar backgrounds as my own. Just as an aside, I've personally felt better connections with those who were of similar backgrounds to my own, just because of cultural similarities especially in the way we were raised. But I'm still technically single (no ring on my finger yet), so what's to come for me is still quite unknown.

Both honest and a good insight. I also think this could be very true for so many people.
I'd date a puppet,you think I'd mind dating a chinese guy?😛. Who cares about the colour of the skin?!,gosh,I don't like racist ppl!.They are just brain dead
 
If I cared about not dating outside my race, I wouldn't be a white chick happily married to a Puerto Rican for three years 😀

Yeah, I don't care who, or what people like to date, have sex with or marry. Hey, it's whatever floats your boat...I for one have had my fair share of fantasies about one Lenny Kravitz...whooo! Can that man ROCK! And hey, SG was a hottie...and Old Master is a QT as well! Then again most of my idea of what's beautiful in a person has nothing to do with the package...so basically good people are HOT! 😀

😛 And hey! What about poor Pee-Wee? He really loved that Salad...
