Into Every Generation, A Slayer Is Born

If a slayer is born into every generation, if it means one slayer is born in a generation, how come there's Kendra, Faith and Buffy from the same generation ?
 
Others might think of that as a silly nitpick of a question, but me I'm like, "Oh what the heck. I'll play". 😉

"In every generation there is a Chosen One". What's the problem? Rock generation, me generation, now generation, generation of a family unit - doesn't matter. If you're in a generation there is a Chosen One.
 
I always chose to interpret said statement of one slayer in every generation as a more philosophical issue of like "no matter which age you live in there will be a slayer somewhere standing alone against demons and yadayada". As n4h mentioned...
 
I never had as much problem with the "generation" bit as with the "one girl in all the world" bit. If we accept the fact that there are demons of some sort scattered throughout the world, the Slayer population seemed a little scarce. Of course, in defense of the Shadow Men, mankind was probably limited to a small area during their time, and they either didn't care about the demons anywhere else or just never thought that far into the future. The modern post-Chosen arrangement seems more logical when thought of that way.
 
I totally agree, white avenger. It was as though the good side was of the belief the demons weren't worth worrying about, it was much better post 'chosen'.
 
What i got was that there could be more then one born in a generation,since they all seem around the same age, but theres only one activated at a time
 
Now if we take it out of the box for a second. If it was all real..not made for us. Do you think that 'Buffy' would have been brought back to life with her powers? I mean if there was only supposed to be one..do you think that Kendra being called right away that Buffy would come back well, normal strength?

I mean if this was real life people not a show. 🙂
