Ironic Names

Am I over-analyzing, or is there an edge of irony to almost every name of every major character in the Buffyverse

Buffy: A hero of mythological proportions given the name of a bubbleheaded valley girl.

Angel: Tainted by an evil past. Plagued by issues of conscience.

Cordelia "Chase": Introduced as the leader of the pack.

Xander Harris: The follower, named for Alexander the Great, the great leader of men.

Rupert Giles: A name for a stuffy Englishman given to a teen rebel, and an open-minded adult.

Willow "Rosenberg": A Jewish girl with a need for crucifixes.

Harmony: Chaos follows her around.

Faith: Believes in no-one.

Dawn: Her presence creates Buffy's death?

Come to think of it, Sunnydale's kind of an ironic name for a town that sits over a Hellmouth (the center of darkness), isn't it?

Hm...I'm not that observative. But it's cool that you are, cause then we can all benefit from it, and learn about the irony in the Buffyverse. lmao. Very cool. I've thought about the names like Angel, Harmony, and Faith, but you notice something in almost everyone of them.....
