Even better than charmedones193's scene is this one from ATS season 5 "Damage" where Andrew sees Spike for the first time post-Chosen:
ANDREW
(stands)
Spike?
(runs toward Spike, touching his shoulders)
It's you. It's really you!
(hugs Spike, sobbing)
My therapist thought I was holding onto false hope, but... I knew you'd come back.
(sniffles, releases Spike from the hug to look him in the eyes)
You're like... you're like Gandalf the White, resurrected from the pit of the Balrog,
(touches his palms to Spike's face)
more beautiful than ever.
(hugs Spike tightly around the neck)
Ohh... he's alive, Frodo.
(sobbing)
He's alive.
Oh yeah, definitely gay. 🙂 I've been thinking lately how annoyed I am at Joss' treatment of gay men. Gay people in general, actually. In all of his works so far, Willow & Tara are the only openly gay people, and the only gay relationship we see. I was disappointed at how the Firefly storylines both of Inara having a female client & her attraction to Saffron were treated like Playboy-fodder. I mean, my god, it's the future, aren't we more evolved than that?! I'm in the middle of Dollhouse season 2, and other than a passing reference to a female engagement of Echo's, there are no openly gay characters/relationships. Maybe it's because I expect more of Joss, because the Tara/Willow relationship was ground-breaking on TV. But yeah, here we have a super-long season 8 with Andrew playing a big role, but he never comes out of the closet. Annoying.
