Is "Angel" being overplayed in the States?

I swear to God I've seen Angel thousand times on TNT more than I do on my own DVD's, we're already on the series finale and later will be the pilot episode.

Do you think it's time to retire the show in it's syndication? It just doesn't feel special anymore with it being overplayed by TNT like they do.

I'm glad Angel and Buffy are always running on TV. It's nice to watch every now and then

Special? As in less exclusive? I really don't consider that a issue, considering that might have been what made not enough people watch it in the first place, so it got cancelled(I assume that's what happened when it got cancelled).

Huh, I've never noticed it being played a lot. I don't think its really an issue, cable networks rerun certain tv series; if anything it nice to see the Angel is considered good enough to rerun.

I was so happy when I saw Angel in the States while I was on holiday. They don't air in my country.

Not really. There's always gonna be new people watching it, or people who for some reason might have missed certain episodes. The fact that they re-run it a lot just shows that people watch and therefore still enjoy it 🙂

Well, you can always change the channel?

I like seeing Buffy and Angel pop up on the TV - SyFy is currently airing BtVS and the Horror channel was showing AtS, but seem to have stopped now... Anyway, if it's an ep I like, and there's nothing else on, I quite often watch Buffy on SyFy.

You aren't required to watch TNT if you are so sick of seeing Angel all of the time. I personally think it's a really great thing it's still in syndication. We don't need Buffy and Angel to be more exclusive, or 'cult,' as it were. A bigger fanbase does not make a show less 'special.' It's great that people still like it enough to watch it on syndication.

I am glad they keep doing reruns except for the fact that they are always on while I'm sleeping. 🙁

Im not in the US but I think its great if its still airing on tv. We could have a whole new group of fans!

I love the fact that Angel's still in syndication. A lot of people found Buffy through re-runs on FX. I used to record old episodes of Buffy on VHS tapes, after Buffy ended its sixth season, and it made me a bigger fan. If it exposes newcomers to the shows, then I'm all for it. But, seriously guys, our shows need to find better channels. C'mon, Teen Nick? 😛

The more people get to see the genius of Joss the better! :)

Wait, 1. there's a teen nick now?! and 2. they air Buffy and Angel? What?!
I love it too. It comes on while I am still at work on Sunday nights (read Monday mornings!) and I love that for the last two hours of my shift I've got all my work done and can just sit and watch Angel across the lobby.

I don't know why, but to me it feels more special when it's on TV. I can always go back and watch it on DVD, but when I have to wait for it to come back on from commercial or wait for the next episode to come on when it's over it builds that suspense again! Plus we need to convert EVERYONE to loving the Whedonverse; how can we do this if it's not aired?! lol

Totally agree... I personally love that the shows are still being shown on TV so new fans can discover them. If you don't want to watch you can always change the channel, like xaphania said. 😉

If Angel wasn't running on TNT I never would have watched it and then would never have watched Buffy. So I'm glad they run it on TNT. It can help pull in new fans to a show that has been off the air for almost ten years. Thus making new whedonites that is never a bad thing! So no I don't think they should take it off. Besides it plays at like 6 am if I dont feel like watching it I turn it off or go back to sleep lol.

Though I always wake up for the ending of youre welcome even if I havent watched tnt in months my tv is sadistic and tunes in for You're Welcome and I wake up to her saying goodbye and start my morning sobbing DAMN YOU TNT!

No. Angel is only on for two hours every morning on TNT. Buffy has been on plenty of channels over the years (FX, LOGO, Nickelodeon, etc.). I'm more than fine with Angel getting some love for a change.

I also don't think it's overplayed- its on at 5 & 6 am in my time zone! How many people get to see that?

When I first started watching Buffy (again) it was 2 years ago on LOGO. There was 1 point when Buffy was being broadcast on LOGO, MTV, Chiller, & TeenNick all at the same time! Nowadays I only find it on Chiller in the middle of the night.

As far as SyFy goes, I have no idea why they aren't replaying Battlestar Galactica, their most popular series ever.

It's funny, I never see Angel on T.V. Like, ever. However, Buffy plays every night here around midnight, although for whatever reasons they don't air the episodes in order. But seriously, I've yet to see a single Angel episode here.

I saw it on FX at like 2am last night, which was weird because I had no clue it still came on that channel. I tried to stay up for it but...I failed. Buffy is sometimes on logo and it comes on chiller pretty often. It's really nice when I catch it unexpectedly, I was in a pretty bad mood one night and then I saw that Buffy was on and it made me happy 🙂
