Is Anyone Else Having Problems With the Mobile Site?

I'm OBVIOUSLY doing something wrong, but I can't figure out what, so I'm gonna tell y'all about it in the hopes of someone else fixing the problem, lol.

Previously, whenever I've logged onto BB from my Blackberry, it's the mobile site I see, and it loads pretty fast and everything's good, and I didn't have to do anything special to make the mobile site show up on my phone.

But the last few days, when I log on, I get taken to the main site, with my Lindsey layout, and everything is slow and hard to read and I just tend to give up.

Now, I don't know if it's something that I've done in the past and can't remember, as I recently had to get my phone replaced, however, it was working just fine on the days immediately after I got it back.

So, any suggestions? Anything I need to change or click or something?
 
I've been getting the mobile site when I log in on my phone, but I have noticed the past couple of days it's been REALLY slow... so slow to the point, I don't even bother...
 
I just tested it out there and it's working no problem for me, it's going to the Mobile skin and seems normal speed.

It could be settings on your phone, theres usually settings in the browser to take you to the mobile version of a site if it's available, that may be turned off in the phones browser, what browser are you using?
 
I put the Blackberry in the list where it doesn't automatically put you on the mobile style, because someone was having problems getting back to the normal site. Can you choose the Mobile Style manually? Otherwise I'll take it out again.
 
I'm using Blackberry's own browser, so that's probably the problem, yeah. I haven't tried to change the skin on the phone, as I don't know if it'll change it on the PC, too. Lemme try and I'll get back to you.

Nope, when I change the layout on the Blackberry to the mobile skin, it's still really slow at loading, and it changes my layout on the PC as well.
 
Well, yeah, you're just using a different board skin. It's not a mobile site...

I don't think slow loading has anything to do with it. It's just a skin.
 
Hmm, that's weird, 'cause before I got my phone fixed, when I logged in on the phone it showed the mobile skin straight away, without me having to change it. But when I logged in on the PC, I still had my Lindsey skin. Weird.

Oh, well. At least I feel better for not being a complete bimbo yet again, lol.
 
Because before, it automatically put all phones except for Opera Mini browsers and iPhones automatically to the mobile style. But because Blackberry people were having problems, I made it so it doesn't automatically go there. I can change it back if it's better that way though.
 
I don't mind. Whichever is easier for the boards. It's just hard to read and load this way. But if there are other people having more serious issues, then leave it as it is. No worries.
 
Try:

Open the BB internet browser, and bring up the Menu the select Options >> Browser Configuration

In here, the first option should be a drop down menu where you can select the broweser setting you want to change (Internet Browser or Blackberry Browser, if your blackberry is on a BES server for work or something, going through the BB Browser goes through that server, so your effectivly using their internet rather then just connecting through your phones connection, FYI if your using BB browser, your work can see what web pages you access)

So make sure whatever browser your using is selected in the first option.
Scroll down to Browser Identity, and it should give you 3 options Blackberry, Firefox or Internet Explorer.
It has to be set Blackberry to show mobile version of sites, if it's set to FF or IE it will show the full site.

That may fix it.

Dang, total speculation on my behalf but it could have been that the mobile skin was showing up as it was saved like a cookie to the phone, so when Darla changed the usergroup it still defaulted by the cookie.

What you could try doing (lol) is clear the cache on your phone, then change it to the mobile skin on the computer, then go online on your phone log in then change it back to your normal skin on the computer and it may stay on the mobile skin on your phone 😀

Oh and to clear cache on BB internet browser, open the browser > Menu > Options > and there should be an option to clear the cache there (I think don't full remember)

I haven't had any issues... In fact I got all excited last night when I realized that there was an iPhone-compatible version of the site. 😀
 
I just installed that yesterday 😉 Faith is cooking up a FAQ for the new Crackberry/iPhone app we've got going as well, so watch this space.
 
Since there was actually a mobile thread up already, I might as well hear if someone experiences the same as I do. I have a SonyEricsson C901 (that's not an android model), and while I do jump straight to the mobile skin, more often than not my phone refuses to open the threads. Does anyone else experience this?
