Maybe I have more time on my hands or it's just apart of getting older or something else I can't explain. However, I have been in a creative mood. I have so many projects that I wish to start or complete. Some being home-decor related and some being artsy-fartsy stuff.

The normal creative mood that I get sets me up to do a lot of fictional writing and other random acts of art. When the kids allow the time I try to squeeze in playing some music. When I was much younger I spent most of my time editing video which I would like to get back to. Lately running has been my main passion before art or fiction. I've been working on a collection of short stories since my deployment in Afghanistan. Mostly Edgar Allan Poe or H.P. Lovecraft inspirted. I've also been working on a script since about the same time (its taking forever) based on a non-fiction book that I recently read.

However, when creating this thread I meant more of the creative side, more hands on. Many people may have some DIY books or spend time on Pinterest. Are there any projects anyone has been working on.

Recently my wife and I bought an old coffee table. We painted it a pale-pink and then painted the top chalk-board-paint-black so they can draw on it when they watch tv or do homework. She made her friend a wall-hanging with a printed sheet of paper and a piece of wood??

My buddy and I are working on this cabin we recently got. We decided that its not going to have any electricity. So far so good. It's currently ran by old lanterns and propane heaters. We have a large propane drum and a water drum. As soon as we get it down there we are going to have running water for a sink and a shower. The propane will run a refrigerator and a deep freeze. We are building some sleeping shacks in the roof of the cabin. It's been pretty fun. We've got a lot more done since the start of the summer than I thought we would.

For my son's birthday I am going to buy an old dresser. I am going to align the outside of the dresser with flat lego pieces and the inside of the cabinets with different color legos.

My wife, I am building her a wooden-post-directional sign from one of her favorite books. I've been working on this one for a little while. Its kind of hard to sneak out of the house to find a piece of cedar wood, or saw some directional signs and so-fourth.

I forgot to add in the recent Halloween costumes that we (my wife) made.

Plus some salsa. That was my first time making salsa and it was quite fun. We tried using a Ghost Pepper.. it didn't really work.

Anywho, does anyone else out there have any projects that they are working on?

I really like having projects on the go. I find I operate best when I have something to focus on and work towards.

I'm not sure if really classifies as creative, but I'm really, really into working out and physical fitness. I'm really determined to be a better and stronger athlete, and I've been designing and tailoring my workouts lately towards building explosive power and athleticism, as opposed to raw strength. I really like researching it and experimenting with different exercises and different techniques for those exercises. I've been working in a variety of workout supplements too which I've found have really added a new dimension to my training. I've been looking at getting into gymnastics as a new hobby too.

I'm a big martial arts guy, but since I've been away at school I've had to kind of curtail them for the time being. I've been looking at getting back into it though, especially boxing.

I'm always reading a book and a comic series (love reading), and right now I'm finishing up Dance with Dragons of the Game of Thrones series (I'm actually kind of dreading being done with it, because I've never loved a book series so much and it's going to be YEARS before Winds of Winter comes out) and I'm on the second volume of the Buffy S8 Library Edition hardcovers. I really enjoyed the first volume, even if it was pretty different. Next week I'm really looking forward to beginning the Angel: After the Fall reread we have going (we need more people!) through the discussion thread. I'm a big fan of the Angel comics.

Neat thread. I'll be sure to post more as they come to me.

Damn, Pike!! Y'all are so crafy it amazes me sometimes! LOL

I am always working on new fanart... And if I'm not actually working on a piece, my mind is always generating ideas for new pieces. 🙂

I have begun painting again lately, but we are steadily running out of room for me to be creative and make crafts. I find that digital art is a nice outlet 'cause I satisfy my need to be creative without making a bigger mess of my house. 😛

Well, I'm working on my Graduation Project right now. Basically, I'm writing a fanfic involving a crossover of Buffy and Charmed. I've already got a cover made for it, and my replica Book of Shadows (Which I think I posted photos of in another topic) will go along with it as a 3-D object.

The school approved it, so I'm home free 😀

Other than that, I'm always working on fanfics

I collect and restore antique radios. My most recent project was a Marconi 252FM, an AM-FM radio from the 1950's that has 14 tubes. Even though it is a table radio, it weighs 41 pounds. It works perfectly now. I have quite a few other projects waiting in the wings.

I also compose parody song lyrics in the same vein as Weird Al Yankovic and my daughter has sung some of them at open mike nights in various places.

I am working on a fuzz pedal for my daughter's guitar - no rush on that, she is in Korea and won't be back until next June. I have also converted an old Muzak PA system originally designed for announcements and music in stores into a guitar amplifier.

I have written a novel, but I seem to be less motivated in editing it.

that's incredibly awesome
I play the guitar and try to compose my own songs. Right now it's basically just building a collection of riffs and melodies.

I also do a bit of scriptwriting. It's hard, but the challenge proves to be good fun. Just as music it's a good way to express your feelings and opinions.
