This person speaks so much sense. Buffy gets so much unfair criticism in my view and its quite amazing when you think that she is the lead character of the show.

I agree when its mentioned that Buffy's behaviour in "Sanctuary" was wrong, but even that can be explained and you can sought of understand why she acted in that way.
 
I agree, I've always felt that Buffy's character gets a lot of unfair critiscism with the exception of Sanctuary I've never considered her especially whiny. Not without reason. Good blog post link, it was very nice to read.

Whiny? No. Hypocritical, self righteous and arrogant (by season seven)? Yes.

I don't think Buffy gets unfair criticism. Just because she's the lead doesn't mean every one should love her or not be able to criticise her actions/behaviour. Only Buffy herself would think that everyone deserves to be criticised more than her. Cos she's ,y'know, better than them. She's the Slayer. 😛 😉

No longer like the angry side that Buffy brings out in me!

Good read. 🙂 And I don't think she's whiny, not all the time. She mostly keeps it to herself. Especially after Joyce died, she didn't let it out until the last scene in Forever. In S6, she didn't whine till Tabula Rasa. In S7, I would whine if I had to live with 30+ girls, but Buffy didn't. 😛
 
I never considered Buffy whiny because standing by the definition of the word, she just isn't. The only times I found her annoying was when she turned rather arrogant in season 7. I was there yelling: COME ON! I know she's gone through a lot but most of season 7 she was like that. Whiny..whiny...so she was way inappropriate and partially "whiny" in Sanctuary but let's shove that aside and what stays? Nothing...Buffy's certainly not perfect but not whiny either.
 
I think Buffy gets a lot of unfair criticism, but also a lot of unfair defense from people who think of her as their favorite character. I love Buffy, but a lot of her actions, especially in the later seasons, made me not love her so much anymore.
But would I call her whiny? Hell no.
 
In season 7 Buffy did get very whiny I have to admit there was parts (mainly the long tiresome speeches) where I wanted to hit her myself lol
 
I never considered Buffy whiny. I think sometimes she needed to just shut up and sometimes she needed to learn to just let stuff go... but if she didn't, I'd be upset. She wouldn't have been a realistic character if she didn't put her foot in her mouth sometimes. It's part of life.
 
I am always a little disapointed when Angel buttons up his shirt in Sanctuary as he walking toward Buffy. lol 😉
Buffy like everybody else who is living has her bad days.

She did act really wrong in Sanctuary. She acted wrong whenever she appeared in Angel. It wasn't always about Buffy.
 
Yes, she's whiny. But no-one seems to think that and that's okay because she's "The chosen one", like Flannen said.
That annoys me so much.

No, I don't think she's whiny because I don't recall seeing her whine very much on the show or the comic. Not because she is the "Chosen One".

Slayerness does not negate the ability to complain. Kennedy and Rona anyone?

I just think that given her life, she complains very little. At least to my estimation.

That's a claim that could be laid at the door of each Scooby by season 7.
