Is Everything Offensive Nowadays?

Look at the Macarena. The whole song was about cheating but yet I recall dancing to it when I was 6 years old.

I recall tutoring a music class of 5 and 6 year olds a couple of years ago. One of them busted out the lyrics to "I'm Sexy and I Know It". Then the rest of the kids joined in. Really made me lose hope for the future generation.

But yes, almost all the songs you hear aren't kid friendly. Will this be fixed? Probably not because sex sells

I don't have TV channels at home so overly sexual music videos/songs won't really be a problem for me (and I'll never have TV channels). Not because I'm like a prude or anything, it's just that most modern music on music channels is, like, garbage; brain rot. Brain rot with an agenda usually.

Winter loves her nursery rhymes and alphabet though. She can recite the whole alphabet now! Repeatedly. Like 800 times a day. Which is offensive to me.

Sounds like you need something else to complain about. All that crap that D. Trump spouted will seem insignificant when you hear what Tony Abbott is saying (he was the previous Prime Minister of Australia).
T. Abbott makes D. Trump look like a people person.

Amen to that! Remember when he was asked what he's done as the minister for women and he replied "I axed the carbon tax and that helps women as they are the budgeters of the household" Like, um, what?
And as far as Aussie politics goes... We have our own version of Trump. Pauline Hanson. Some of the stuff she says makes me laugh. She came to my town recently. I wanted to find her and point her to the nearest fish and chip shop (That's what her career was before politics)
Actually Hanson thinks that Trump stole several of her policy ideas haha

My mums voting for her :/ my boyfriend is very involved in the labor government he volunteers more days with their campaign and hopes to get a job with them if labor wins the election but every time he comes over and mum starts talking about how much she loves Pauline Hanson its just so awkward..

Honestly, if I spoke my mind and not filter every thought that comes into my head, I think people would be surprised and not like me. Speaking your mind so freely is not a good thing!

I voted the other day at uni- we could do an early vote. Labor got my vote. I'm very against selling off Western Power.

Oh that's awesome, was it an O Day thing? I'm actually curious what Uni you go to we could possibly go to the same one haha.

Yes, it was an O Day thing. I'm studying at ECU. I'm studying online as my local ECU doesn't have the course I wanted, so I'm corresponding with ECU's Joondalup campus 🙂 What uni are you at?

But seriously, I hate Colin Barnett. He essentially destroyed the live music scene. Sure acoustic acts can get away with most of it, but so many venues have to cut back on bands thanks to the new noise regulations. Not to mention the cut of funding for youth programs, a lot of the ones in my town were music related. Funding dried up in 2011. And yet we wonder why there is such a massive drug epidemic in young people when funding has been cut back for youth programs!!!
And colin also killed Soundwave, Big Day Out and that other music fest in Perth. Urgh.

Oh wow! I was actually studying there last year for a Uni Prep course but decided to go to Murdoch because ECU doesn't have any normal accounting courses. Which is a real shame because I live so close to Joondalup and so far away from Murdoch haha.

Colin Barnett did that? I now have a personal grudge against him haha. I never really looked into why Soundwave got cancelled in Perth but it was so good while it lasted :/ was only able to go to it once in 2012 and was never able to go to Big Day Out.
Didn't know anything about the new noise regulations either, generally when I see local bands live its at Amps in the city on thursday nights so luckily as its a club they can play as loud as they'd like.
 
Ah I see! I'm at the Bunbury campus to sit all my exams and such. But I'm lucky with ECU being one of the top unis for psychology courses (I'm doing counselling)

Yep! Colin had a stink at the last Soundwave and made the whole event move the WEEK before it was supposed to be on to a different venue. All because of the noise. It's like, it's a fricken rock concert that comes once a year. I went in 2013 and had tickets to 2014 (but broke up with an ex and gave the tickets to her)
The noise restrictions have affected down south a lot. So many regular places I used to go to and gig have only acoustic acts now thanks to the new laws. I think places in the city are alright but down here it's quite crap. It's more because a lot of these places are so close to residential areas, so if someone complains about the noise, it has to be shut down straight away rather than the previous attitude of "If you were stupid enough to buy a house next to the pub and complain about the noise, it's your own fault, get over it"
At least that's how I understand it. Music is dead in the South West :/

Yep ECU is the best for the Arts degrees. I was originally going to do their psychology, criminology and justice course because it just seems so interesting I just worried it wouldn't be very fruitful after I've finished it.

That does sound really annoying, you'd think they'd want places where young people can go and enjoy themselves. Definitely check out Amplifier in the city if you're ever up this way, and then there's a place called HQ in leederville that has bands every Friday. Would even take you if you wanted (I have hardly any friends who appreciate the Buffyverse) Would be such a long commute though if youre not near a train line..
 
I had decided to go to the Toodyay uni, I liked the thought of seeming cleverer than I am until I told people that I got my hair done at the unisex hair salon.
For what has been said I was a gardener at the Churchlands ECU, the Claremont ECU and the Mt. Lawley ECU.

Yet we are here to find what is not offensive, or have a laugh at what is. So how about this The American President D. Trump and the English Prime Minister Boris Johnson and now there a possibility of Tony Abbott. Oh what a happy threesome, a happy band of idiots.
