Is Fray Worth IT

In my opinion yes. I hadn't read a lot of comics for a long while but gave it a try anyway. It did take some getting used to but in the end I was loving it and sad to see it end so fast. And that was what convinced me to buy the Buffy comics.
 
Fray is excellent, although it's not very much like Buffy at all. And it does tie in with the Buffy Season 8 comics.
 
Fray is probably my favorite comic set in the Buffyverse. Enjoyed it more than S8 and the old Buffy comics.
 
Fray is MORE than worth it! It's easily my favorite collection of comic books in the whole Buffyverse and one of my favorites overall (which is saying a lot, since I'm a bit of a graphic novel geek).
 
I'd definitely say so. I enjoyed Fray so much more than I expected. It was short, yes, but unlike a lot of the Buffy arcs, it was tight. Perfectly paced. It was a bit difficult at first, but that's possibly because I'd never really read comics before it.

You really think so? I thought it was much more "in the verse" than most of S8. Far more than what I've read of ATF.

Well when i initially started on S8 I was plowing through series and the first 2 issues of S8 that had just come out. I was hooked, but mainly for resolution. Looking back, Fray and S8 are MILES apart in terms of quality. Fray is a comic worth owning, even if Buffy never even existed.

I had to wait for the TPB, so I never got that. But then again, I never got that with Fray either, but I was still hooked.

I meant that it ties in in the sense that Fray is directly relevant to season 8. (Buffy and Mel meet up -- eventfully -- in the "Time of Your Life" arc).

I enjoy Fray, Season 8, and ATF all just about equally... but despite all being in the same continuity, they are all three very different from one another. I love the variety, myself.
 
Fray is definitely one of the better Buffyverse stories that Joss has ever written. The character relationships were very strong, especially between Fray-Harth and Fray-Erin. Urkonn was a very interesting "Watcher", especially because of his unorthodox methods. Melaka Fray possesses a different and interesting take on what it means to be a Slayer, and I was pleasantly surprised that she is more of an antihero than Buffy (though not quite as much as Faith--somewhere inbetween, I think). Joss successfully created a future Buffyverse that stands on its own even as it briefly looks back at Slayer history. Great art, too. So I was disappointed by "The Time Of Your Life", since it seemed like a watered-down quasi-sequel (although I did like the surprise villain) Hopefully, after Season Eight, Joss writes a true Fray sequel.
