Is the Omnibus Canon?

There have been four Omnibuses so far, and number five's due soon, right? But I'm not 100% sure if any of the stories are canon, as I don't think any are written by Joss. I could be wrong, but I'm gonna go with no, they aren't canon.

The omnibuses collect old tie-in comics that were mostly written when the show was still being aired. They are decidedly not canon, with one exception. The Origin from Omnibus 1 adapts Joss' original script for the movie and ties it in with the continuity of the show. Joss said it could pretty much be accepted as canon. Apart from the Origin, the omnibuses haven't featured any canon stories so far.

Except "Normal Again" shot down The Origin as being canon, but its meant to be Buffy reciting what happened from memory, so...

Go ahead and buy them...they are really good with the exception of vol. 4. Didn't like that one too much.

I've enjoyed them (mostly - Number four is not as good as the others). It is handy to get them all in one big volume and the chronological order is handy too.
(and I wouldn't have thought that 'Normal Again' (and Buffy's stay in an asylum) destroyed the canon status of Origin either.)

Normal Again happened after Dawn. You can't say for sure that The Origin never happened. They just might not remember.

In "The Origin" Buffy is in the library with Xander and Willow around season 2 telling them about her life in LA and how she first found out she was a Slayer and discovered the existence of Vampires.
The story is a retelling of the film, but the comic itself was written during season 2 or 3's airing so it only matches the continuity of the first three seasons.
At no point during the comic does Buffy tell her parents she saw Vampires and all they knew (in fitting with season 1) was that she burnt down the gym and was a trouble maker.
In season 6, a few years after the comic was written Buffy tells Willow that after she saw her first Vampire she freaked out entirely, told her parents, and they put her in a mental institution for several weeks, after she got out they moved to Sunnydale and enrolled her there.
The episode implies that she saw them, was so scared she started the fire that burnt down the gym and was institutionalised.
But it ignores the events of The Origin entirely, and since its whats on screen that counts as canon, the film plot was essentially "re-erased".

But then Normal Again also clashes with Becoming, Part I?
I think that it may have went a little like this:
Merrick finds Buffy, he trains her in killing vampires. This freaks her out and she's institutionalised. She returns and Lothos turns up. She burns the gym, and her parents move.
