But then they have to know who you are and you need to spend mental effort on them. It is so much easier for them to have accidents. And for those to happen when you are always in another part of the country. Always.

It makes no difference how many sweaters, jackets, layers, I put on, I will still be cold. I can handle the heat way better than I do the cold.
Well at one time they had a refrigerator the ran on natural gas so it wouldn't surprise me if they did come up with a gas powered TV.

I found a refrigerator at a garage sale once that ran on 120 volt AC or 12 volt DC or propane. Some guy was arguing with the vendor over the $10 he was asking, so I pulled out a $10 bill and grabbed the refrigerator out from under him. It has worked well as a spare refrigerated turkey holder for Thanksgiving and Christmas when you don't have any more room in the fridge inside. It has an over-center clamp to lock it shut so raccoons don't open it. Some friends have also taken it as a camping fridge but I don't know if they ran it from DC from their truck or from propane from a barbeque.
In France, there's more violence nowadays as there's cases everydays of children beating teachers & bring knives! in school so I would say worse. Seems like children/teenagers are losing it.
Not all old cars, I'm sure some still have cassette players, but my dad's car doesn't even have a radio!

I imagine if you go to classic cars and older you will find... 8 tracks? I think that's what they were called.

The world reliably generates one psychopath or sociopath for every 125 people born. What is needed is to prevent these people from getting the power they desperately want. So far, our educational system has been an utter failure at training people to recognize psychopaths, sociopaths and narcissists because these people are in power and they do not want people knowing enough to challenge them. The world keeps moving along regardless of the fact that it is neither getting better nor worse.

My wife's first 2 Honda CR-V's had both a cassette player and a CD player. Our third CR-V, a 2007, only had a CD player but it was a 6 disc changer. Our new HR-V only had a spot for a USB drive.
My little Fit has a CD player and I love it. I would be lost without it.

My first car as a teenager was a 69 Ponitac LeMans and it had a factory 8 track player but only an AM radio. I promptly swapped it out for a FM/Cassette unit.

Yeah, I really miss that car.......although it did get me into trouble more than once with the long arm of the law for speeding/racing!
