Is this the correct terminology?

As this is about the series Angel or Buffy, is this in the correct place for my question. I asked this of myself several times.

I just watched the DVD Nosferatu, I admit I am left somewhat confused by its delivery.
Is the terminology of Nosferatu to be about the generalized creatures

OR

Is the terminology about a character that leads all vampires (ie Dracula)

At the end of the film it showed the Nosferatu drinking blood from the victims chest, that had me wondering:
should the vampire drink blood from the neck or straight from its victims heart?
( we won't go into the angle of the bite. )
 
I think it depends on how gory the film makers are! 🧛‍♀️🩸

If vampires were real, I think it would depend on whether they wanted to kill their victims in a messy manner or just feed... or feed without killing... The heart thing... we've got great big bones to crunch through... It doesn't strike me as efficient or even that much fun for the vampire... (I think the human is pretty much post caring if their chest is opened and they're pouring blood from their heart in the last few pumps of their life blood). A lot of blood pumps from a heart, but if you stop it (which would likely happen if you bit into it... it probably would go into fibrillation (rapid quivering) pretty rapidly rather than keep beating, so it's not helping you... from a practical standpoint, carotid or femoral would be fastest as they'll spurt as long as the heart keeps beating. The carotid would be the most easy to access.

If you look at how animals KILL... they tend to go for the throat... once death is accomplished, they'll open up the body... but that's because they want the meat. Something super-strong with near human intelligence is probably more interested in sucking out as much blood as they can...

In the unlikely event we've got a vampire who is not trying to kill, feeding from a forearm vein makes more sense (that was the one thing Riley did get right) Once you open a carotid artery, you're likely to have your victim bleed out... if they don't, they'd probably have a stroke as a damaged carotid artery would tend to cause nasty things like clots... and clots cause strokes.🧛‍♂️🩸

I suppose we can handwave Buffy being fed from by Angel... because she heals almost instantly and therefore would not keep bleeding... but it is still bloody stupid. I think that scene was supposed to be 'romantic & sexy' but... yeah, no, it's idiocy.

And i'm assuming I actually addressed you question...

Eh, most of the blood suckers have an almost surgical quality to them. Like the Vampire Bat has super sharp teeth and anti-colagulants to lick up the blood from its victims, or the mosquito has a piercing moothpiece. Just ripping apart someone to get to the heart is really a waste, especially if you want the victim to regenerate.

Eh, I understand it as more of "The Vampire" like a title that becomes a name. Like, if you were making a movie about Rome that was just titled "The City." Or how films about Jesus are never titled "The Ministry of Jesus of Nazareth, with an emphasis on the events of A D. 33." Names and titles are like that.

Of course, as was pointed out, a stake to the heart works on so many things!
