I wasn't sure which forum to put this in so move it if I'm wrong mods. Anyway I was on another message board and someone said this:

"I am watching fox news right now, they just said that their will be six tv movies of angel aired for next season, I think this is extremely cool."

Did anyone else see this? Is it true?

Yeah but the quote I posted says it is going to happen. My other post just says it could. I was asking if anyone else saw this Fox News so I could find out if there was any truth in this.

Buffy/Angel TV Film Possible?

The WB has approached Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel creator Joss Whedon about doing at least a movie-of-the-week or two"”and possibly as many as six"”next season, thanks in large part to a fan campaign organized by Saving Angel, E! Online's Watch With Kristin column reported.

But the columnist added that, despite Herculean efforts by fans to save the canceled vampire show, Angel won't be coming back as a regular series, either on the frog network or on UPN or Fox, which have both passed.

"I think a Buffy movie is more likely to happen now," Angel cast member James Marsters (Spike) told the columnist. "And they may be given better
budgets, seeing this kind of interest, because there's a feeling that there's a guaranteed audience. So the effort that I've seen, it is not in vain."

Yes I've read in many places that six is possible for next season. I'm a little doubtful because of all the false information we've gotten about the Buffyverse's future, but this seems pretty real. So everybody keep your eyes open for more information on this

:: red dev [EVIL]Jordan Levin[/EVIL] :: red dev said that he'd consider Angel TV movies. Joss isn't too optimistic... gee, I wonder why *cough*sarcasm*cough*?

One thing about this whole idea:

If these films do happen, I'm guessing that they will be only showed over on US TV and unless a channel over here picks them up (which could be quite a laugh - BBC and Ch4 have a history for messing around with us UK fans) we UK fans won't be seeing it

::crying::

HmmmmMMMmmmm, I've heard:-

* Up to 6 Angel TV-movies for next year maybe
*Bits and bobs about a Buffy movie
*A Buffy/Angel movie to round off everything

The latter would be great, but would the WB do a Buffy/Angel movie? It looks like S5 will round off the majority of Angel storylines leaving just the Angel/Buffy crossover storylines left.

Sky One would show these films. So it would only be people without Sky One who won't be seeing it.

Also I would hate to see a Buffy / Angel movie. Buffy ended a year ago! It had a full year to round it off and it ENDED with Chosen. The cast have moved on. Angel on the other hand only got a few weeks notice. So if there is any chance of a TV movie then I want it to be focused on giving Angel the ending it deserves. Buffy had it's own.

I think that maybe one of these movies would be a Angel/Buffy movie, which I would like to see a buffy reunion. I would really like to see how Joss deals with the Spuffy vs. Bangel thing. I think that would be really interesting.

Apparently, the WB is already in talks with JW for the tv movies, which would be interesting. I wonder if they'll actually air in anywhere else besides US.

I get that the Angel and Buffy crew have already got new projects lined up and stuff, may be too busy but it would be nice if they reprised a role in the tv movies. even if it does take place, it'll be AFTER the firefly movie and will probably take yrs. whatever happened to the idea of Ripper? Is JW still working on that or is in the scrap heap? What about a Angel animated series?

I think it would be kinda nifty if they all got together and did an actual movie. Like, one that would be released in theaters. It would be very cool to have everybody together, have them look at eachother and see how much they've changed. Very nifty.

I've heard the movies are very iffy. Joss thinks it's lame, I've read. But considering how he's ending Angel, I think he might have to do a movie or two to wrap up everything.
