I thought we were to assume that Angel, Spike, Gunn, and Illyria died in that fight they so rudely ended at in the series finally. : erm :

Sorry I probably should have posted this in news and announcements ><

Actually no. Not in Latest News and Announcements.

If you want to talk about the upcoming Angel Comic the "Comics" forum is the place. Check it out. You'll see we've been talking about this for some time. It's not news.

OK so...what we know so far -

Joss says it's not a Season 6. I believe what they're calling it now is a Maxi-series, and it's projected to be 10 issues at present. It's also called "Angel: After the Fall". The last offered possible release date was sometime in November. It's by IDW comics. Buffy 8 is by Dark Horse.

Joss doesn't appear to want it to get confused with the Buffy season 8 series he is doing with Dark Horse which he sees as an actual season. He is not putting the kind of personal commitment into it he put in Buffy 8. An IDW contract writer named Brian Lynch is writing the comic from a story framework offered by Joss. The supporting talent comes from the IDW stable rather than selecting from the best of all of comicdom, and the old Mutant Enemy pool, as is the case with Season 8.

Is it Canon? Purists like myself aren't sure, even though the basic idea of how Angel survives, and which of his crew survives with him is supposed to come from Whedon, but the majority of people, possibly including Joss seem to think it is, so I don't know. There ya go, I guess.

Sweet man, thanks for the info! too bad it's not actually going to be a continued series like Buffy 8 🙁 well you never know huh

I'm pissed that he cares more about season 8 of Buffy than the Angel comics. Buffy ended, in my opinion, finely. It was the way it had been meant to end, and I liked it. The ending to Angel, while in some opinions was perfect, also didn't let Joss give the idea that he would've had in mind because he had to wrap up the series there. I would say that Angel should definitely take precedent for the sake of Buffyverse fans, not just BtVS fans.
